With a withering smile she closes her eyes
Pretending for one moment
Just one moment
She was truly happy
Yes when she opened her eyes
She could see every reason she should be
And none of those materialistic things
No only all of the things that makes a spirit bright
But no matter how hard she tried
She could never be happy
She struggled to hold on to such a dear feeling within her heart
Her lip curled and her teeth gnashed
Her pupils blown wide and froth dripping from her mouth
A wild beast she became to those she loved
But on the inside she was hurt
And if you must believe in the scary beast with a thorn in the paw
So be it
But it hurt her deeply whenever her loved ones could not recognize her
Come back to me when you are you
She loved deeper than a chasm with no bottom
It seemed like her emotions were always just heightened
When she was happy
A giggling mess was she
When she was angry
A frightful sight indeed
A heart so empty and yet so full
A wit so sharp and yet others found her dull
And so she slumber
Alone in her dark cave
So maybe her friends will love her
If she were ever able to crawl out unscathed.
