sit tight yall. its another filler chapter but i promise itll be worth it in like the next 2-3 chapters but this is needed and if i put everything in one chapter i wont update for like a week and i love daily updates with this book so im breaking in it to parts

this may seem like a mildly useless chapter but i promise it holds some sort of significance !! (:

*joshs pov*

It was another work day. It wasn't like I hated my job, oh no no. I love it a lot actually it's just that it's quite boring at times, especially when all the customers are being helped by other workers and you're aimlessly walking around the store in desperate need of at least something to do. Whether it's to re-tune the guitars or make sure all the drums are in nice order. There was absolutely nothing to do.

I look at the clock out of pure curiosity.

12:49pm

Oh thank god my break is only 10 minutes...

I smile quietly to myself.

I secretly checked my phone hidden in my back pocket in hopes of Tyler texting me back.

And to my luck, there was nothing there.

I mean I did tell him I was at work so he shouldn't really be texting me either way. I

just really hoped he had.

"Josh!" I heard Mr.Way yell from across the store

"Sorry Mr.Way! It won't happen again!"

He hated when any employees were on their phones during their shifts, especially out on the floor. He claims it makes the store look "tacky" and "unprofessional" and claims it makes us not look like we care for our job.

I scoured the store one last time before my break and to my luck I found a little boy trying to find his first guitar, looking around 10 or 11, with his mom and I was joyous to help them.

~

Once I was done helping them I was a little bit disappointed that it went in to my break but they were really cute and nice and decide not to pout on it so much. I learned that the boy's name was Ross and he was actually 12. He's plays the bass, baritone saxophone, and the trumpet and we were talking about the trumpet for quite a long time. He was a really cool dude and we even exchanged phone numbers.

I realized it was my lunch break once again and rushed to my car, hoping I can still make the most out of my break even though I don't have my full hour, only 45 minutes now.

Right before I started driving I decided to text Tyler.

joshuadun: heyo ty. just got off work and on my break if you wanna talk! (:

Him, as per usual, responds almost immediately.

tylerrjoseph: of course i do gosh but im about to head out actually to get the music shit so i probably wont be able to text you for like 40 minutes sorry ):

joshuadun: do you live that far away from a music store god damn

tylerrjoseph: no lmao. i just want to go to a big and busy one with the best reviews and that seemed to be 40 minutes away from me aha

joshuadun: aah, i understand. i wish you luck on your drumming journey. im about to get some chipotle and youre about to pursue your dreams so lets say we'll text each other after we're done

It phsycially hurt me to suggest not talking to him but he was going to have to go sooner or later

tylerrjoseph: bueno idea. ill text you once im there cause im just about leaving

joshuadun: lol ok see ya

tylerrjoseph: ciao

I placed my phone down in the space next to me. I plugged in the aux to play blackbear to my drive to Chipotle- each mile I get closer, the more basic I become.

I began to pull out of my parking spot and was soon roaming the streets of Columbus in hopes of finding the small restaurant. I pull down my windows while do re mi is blasting through them.
