CHAPTER TEN

I tried my best to embrace the darkness in which I swim.

"You may kiss the bride." The priest said as he smiled widely at the couple standing in front of him.

Claps, the guests started clapping as they stood up. I joined them, almost too excited to contain my tears. The bridesmaids and the best men were all clapping and screaming in unison as Brody and Rebecca slowly stepped down the altar greeting everybody with their contagious smiles. I was right behind them, following Marion rules, just in case the tail of my sister's dress got caught somewhere. God, that would be awful.

Three little girls walked in front of us throwing white petals all over the aisle and pulling funning face at the guests. I grinned, they were adorable.

Two extremely hyperactive photographers were waiting for the happy couple as we reached the hallway, asking them to pose for a random magazine.

"Mr. Johnson!" One of the photographers yelled at Brody. Wow, they knew his last name. I see they did some research.

Brody smiled at the man and pulled Rebecca closer as they quickly posed for a photo.

Rebecca Johnson. It sounded nice, so different from what I'm used to.

A couple of minutes later we were following Marion down a large corridor as she instructed us what to do.

"You and Aaron will go first, Cassandra, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen." The woman told me.

Aaron was Brody's brother, his best man. We hadn't been introduce, I only knew who he was because I saw him a few at times at the wedding rehearsals and he seemed so full of himself. He didn't go to the wedding party though, I wonder why?

"Brody, after you're inside the ballroom go straight to the dance floor, both of your parents will be waiting there for the toast." She continued.

They both nodded.

We were getting closer and closer to the ballroom and with each step I took my anxiety levels were raising. There was just so much going, I didn't want to mess anything up, especially not in front of so many people.

When we finally got to the entrance of the room, Aaron and the rest were already waiting for us, we took our positions in line and waited for further instructions.

"Uhm, intertwine your arms." Marion said as she glanced at every single one of us.

Hell no, I won't be touching anyone. I hated physical contact so fucking much.

I took a quick glance at Aaron, who was standing next to me, and his expression made it more than obvious how annoyed he was with all of this.

"Good." She said to Rebecca when she linked arms with Brody.

Aaron moved his arm towards me unexpectedly. "What are you waiting for?" He asked.

I frowned. Jeez, he was rude.

"Cassandra, we don't have all day." Marion yelled at me.

Was this the official "be rude to Cass" day?

I quickly put my hand around his arm, trying to keep the contact at a minimum level.

He grinned, not even looking at me. Was he making fun of me? What an ass.

I felt the sudden urge of rolling my eyes but I didn't. I hated when people rolled their eyes, especially at me.

"Perfect, we're ready." The woman said and in a swift movement she opened the huge doors to reveal a room full of people.
