Hey guys! Saira here and I know, I know we haven't updated and it's kinda pointless to say we're sorry at this point.
Anyways, I have come to the conclusion that we must be confusing you guys with all of these POV changes, so we're just ganna
change it to third-person POV so it's easier to understand.
Now let the story continue!
--------------------------------------------------
"T-the Institute?" Luna stammered.
"Yes, the Institute," Isabelle replied impatiently. She looked over at Hunter. "Do you need your stele?"
"I'm fine," Hunter grumbled.
"Yeah, sure you are," Isabelle said, tossing an object next to Hunter. She looked back at Luna. "Come with me. Lets see if we can find you something more decent to wear." Luna looked down at her ruined clothes. There were a few claw-like tears and splatters of blood on her pants and shirt. She was covered in a layer of dirt and she didn't even want to think about how her hair looked like. Adelle is going to kill me, she thought.
With one last glance at Hunter, she silently followed Isabelle out the giant doors. The doors led out to a dark, shadowy corridor. It was the kind of hallway that you can just imagine yourself running through in a nightmare. The Victorian-looking wallpaper was faded. Rose shaped glass lamps hung on the walls and the air smelled like dust and candle wax. Isabelle didn't stop walking until she reached another door and went inside and I followed. The room was obviously Isabelle's. It looked like as if a disco ball had exploded inside with walls that were black and shimmered with swirls of sponged-on golden paint. Clothes covered nearly every inch of the ground and bed. The mirror on the vanity table was rimmed with pink fur, covered in glitter, sequins, and pots of blush and powder.
"Love your room," Luna said simply.
"Thanks. Painted it myself," said Isabelle while rummaging through her closet. She came up with jeans and a black T-shirt with a plunging neckline. "Um, do you maybe have a different T-shirt?" Luna asked uncertainly.
"What's wrong with this one?"
"Well, I mean, I'm not really used to wearing these type of shirts..."
"Alright, then. Lets see," Isabelle continued to look through her closet and occasionally looked at a few clothes on the floor. Luna sat down on one of the wooden chairs. "Your awfully quite," Isabelle pointed out. Luna shrugged. "Don't really have anything to say, I guess."
Luna thought she heard Isabelle mumbled, "That's the first," but that's ridiculous, she only just met Luna. Isabelle wouldn't know how Luna typically is. Right? Must've been her imagination.
"Here, how's this one?" Isabelle said, holding up a red, long-sleeved shirt with a neckline that is, thankfully, not that low. "Perfect," Luna said. Isabelle gave her the jeans and red shirt and Luna went into the little bathroom which was painted bright blue. The jeans were a bit too big so Luna had to roll them up once, but the shirt was perfect. She took a deep breath and exited the bathroom. Isabelle was aimlessly combing her hair in front of the mirror.
"It fits!" Isabelle exclaimed excitedly. "Try to calm that hair now, though." she said, passing Luna a comb.
"Jeez, I look as though I got electrocuted," Luna said when she looked in the mirror with wide eyes. Isabelle laughed. ''Looks like your eyes are trying to escape your head.''
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. ''Isabelle?'' a male voice asked. Isabelle opened the door and a boy with dark hair and blue eyes came in.
Alec, thought Luna. She faintly remembered him before she blacked out. ''We need to talk,'' he whispered to Isabelle, though Luna wasn't sure he meant for her to hear. Alec was pointedly not looking at Luna. Isabelle nodded and turned to Luna. ''Why don't you call your sister? I'm sure she will be wondering where you've gone.''
Luna facepalmed mentally. Adelle! She completely forgot about her sister. She didn't even think about the fact that Isabelle knew she had a sister.
Luna looked at her with wide eyes.''How long was I out?' she demanded.
''About five hours.''
''Five?!''
''Yeah, but--'' Before Isabelle even finished her sentence Luna was out the door toward a phone she saw while walking to Isabelle's room. She ran to the phone and nearly knocked over the desk it was on.
I'm so dead. I'm so dead. I'm so dead.
She hurriedly typed Adelle's number. ''That phone doesn't work you know. It's ancient.'' a voice suddenly said behind her.''What?''
''This phone. It doesn't work,'' Hunter said, taking the phone from Luna's grasp.
''I-I need to call my sister,'' Luna stuttered. ''I need to tell her I'm ok. She's probably freaking out right now.''
Hunter nodded his head and took something out of his pocket.''Here. You can use mine.'' Luna took the phone with only a slight hesitant moment. She nodded a thanks and took a few steps back for some privacy. She called Adelle.
Ring...Ring...Ring...
''Hello?'' Adelle answered.
Luna was quite for a moment. "H-hi Adelle,'' she managed to get out.
Silence.
''Luna! Where the hell have you been?! I've been so worried! Why haven't you returned my calls? I thought you were only going to the movies with Hunter! Where is Hunter? If he has done anything to you so help me I will--''
''Adelle! Calm down, calm down. I'm fine sheesh,'' Luna said interrupting Adelle's rant. Adelle took a deep breath. ''Where are you?''
''I'm--'' Where am I? Luna thought realizing she had no idea what this 'Institute' is.
"I'm at, uh...''
''Luna?'' Adelle asked.
Luna glanced at Hunter still behind her, intently watching her. He stepped forward and grabbed the phone. ''Adelle? Yeah it's me, Hunter. No, she's fine. Yes, I'm fine as well. No, she hasn't attempted to kill me,'' he looked at Luna and grinned. She glared at him.''Yet,'' he added, noticing Luna's glare.
''We're at a museum. Yes, a museum. You know, where they have artifacts and stuff?'' he snickered. Luna could just imagine Adelle saying,''I know what a museum is!'' Probably why Hunter snickered.
''We'll be back in an hour or two. Yes an hour or two, jeez women, do I have to keep repeating myself? Fine,'' he handed Luna back the phone.
''Adelle?'' Luna asked, confirming she was still there.
''Hey, Luna, before you go I just wanted to say... be careful, okay?''
Luna was taken aback by how sincere Adelle sounded. ''Okay.''
''Well, bye. Have fun,'' Adelle said.
''Bye.''
