After the whole muffin situation, Clary decided to order Chinese takeout instead. Everyone agreed immediately. Isabelle grudgingly threw out her soup, muttering about ungratefulness and waste of food. Alec went to go pick up the food while everyone else waited in the kitchen. "You did order mu shu pork right? You know I love mu shu pork." Jace told Isabelle. She only rolled her eyes and said, "Yes. Of course I ordered mu shu pork. Angels know what will happen if you don't have your stupid pork."
Jace looked offended. "Mu shu pork is not stupid. It's quite delicious."
"Oh my god. I love mu shu pork! It's my favorite thing to order when I get takeout!" Luna said eagerly. Hunter chuckled slightly as he leaned against the wall.
"Do you now?" Jace grinned. He was sitting on top of the counter swinging his legs fondly and making a steady beat as he hit the counter with his heels. "See Izzy? There is someone else who appreciates the goodness of mu shu pork," he said gesturing at Luna. Isabelle rolled her eyes again and sat down, crossing her arms.
"Nothing like starting a beautiful friendship by talking about pork," said Simon. Jace only gave him a look and said, "You would know, vampire."
Clary laughed as Simon stuck his tongue out at Jace. Luna thought it was odd that Jace called Simon a vampire, but brushed it off. Maybe he just likes to drink red kool-aid.
"I don't think we have been properly introduced. I'm Clary." Clary said while extending her arm to shake Luna's hand. "That's Simon and Jace," she added.
"I'm Luna," Luna said, thinking how formal it is to be shaking hands but took Clary's outstretched hand all the same.
"I'm perfectly capable of introducing myself, Fray." Simon said."I know." Clary responded. Simon smiled and went over to sit next to Isabelle. They started to murmur to each other and Luna can see that they were holding hands. Clary pushed herself on top of the counter next to Jace. Their shoulders brushing against each other slightly and Clary began to swing her legs too, counteracting Jace's steady beat.
"So tell me," Luna said. "Are you guys siblings or friends or what?"
"Izzy and Alec are siblings. They have another younger brother, Max, but he's away with his parents right now. And I suppose you can say the rest of us are all friends," Clary said. "Friends? Is that the way you view our affiliation?" Jace said, looking at Clary with a crooked grin. His golden hair falling into his eyes. "Well, some of us more than friends," Clary corrected, taking Jace's hands in hers.
"Let's not make this too lovey dovey," Hunter said. Luna jumped. She almost forgot that he was in the room. "I would hate if you started making out when we're about to eat."
"No one said you had to watch, Hale," Jace said. Hunter opened his mouth to say something, but at that moment Alec walked in carrying bags with the name of a Chinese restaurant labeled on it.
Alec held up the bags with a triumphant grin. "Food," he announced. "has arrived."
Luna got up from her seat and ran towards the bags. At the same time, Jace hopped off the counter and dashed for the bags too, Jace was faster by a long shot and beat Luna to the bags. "Better luck next time," he told her. Jace turned to Alec and ruffled his hair affectionately. "You can be very dramatic sometimes, you know that?"
Alec cocked an eyebrow. "I'm not the only one that can be dramatic around here," he said, obviously pointing his words at Jace. Jace smiled. "You're right. Clary can also be dramatic."
