-SIMON-
______As soon as I woke up this morning, I became nervous. And as the day has gone on, I have grown increasingly nervous.
So much could happen today, so many different outcomes. We could come home heartbroken and our relationship ruined, or we could come home to an absolute dream.
I just don't know which it will be.
______
Trying my best to make this night as similar as the first night, I wait patiently at the bottom of the stairs for my lover to come down and take my breath away.
I inhale deeply, remembering how I loved the way her house smells like roses and vanilla. That hasn't changed. I look around at the same decorations that were there when I first came, still just as mature and elegant as they were that night.
The only thing that has changed is the weather. There is no longer snow covering the ground, rather it's a light rain, which is her and I's favorite.
As I lose myself in the memories and the fact that things are so beautifully different now and yet all the same, I hear her footsteps as they reach the top of the stairs.
My eyes immediately land on her, and I am blown away. She looks more beautiful than a queen, more beautiful than a cityscape, more beautiful than anything this earth has to offer. She is the eighth wonder of the world.
I watch as she gracefully walks down the stairs in a long red off the shoulder dress that accentuates her perfect figure. Red is my favorite color on her, and she has a gorgeous smile on her face that makes me believe she chose this dress for that exact reason.
Her soft hair that I love to run my fingers through as she falls asleep is up in a perfect updo, her big green eyes shining and her beautiful face on full display. My eyes, of course, fall to her plump lips, covered in a sultry red lipstick.
By the time I snap out of my daydream, she, in all her glory, is standing right in front of me. That's when I realize something I would never believe to be true; my reality is better than my dreams.
I kiss her lips, not caring if any of her lipstick gets on me, only caring that I put enough passion in the kiss for her to know that I have all the love in the world to give exclusively to her.
"You look like a dream, my love." I say after pulling away.
She beams, her face glowing. "You are a dream, Simon." She says.
I hold an umbrella over her as we race from the door to the car, laughing the whole way because it's pouring.
On the drive there, I try to keep calm so she doesn't suspect a thing. It proves to be challenging, and my heart rate increases with each passing minute. During comfortable silences, I think about how she'll react, if she'll crush my dreams or if she'll make them come true. It's all up to her, really.
Once we pull into the parking lot of the theatre, I can feel my heart in my chest, beating rapidly and my mind thinking "What if?"
Thankfully, she doesn't seem aware and instead seems so happy that it melts me. I smile at her, knowing that I have absolutely no doubts about this night just by seeing her face.
