Present.

I washed my face and came out of the washroom. As I proceeded to the lounge room I was pulled back by a strong arm. The next thing I knew was I was looking into Mike' s beautiful eyes which held a glint of pain.

"What happened?" He asked through clenched jaw. I shook my head. "P... please don't ask... me anything." I pleaded. Mike looked rather sad but agreed. He turned to leave.

Mike' s POV
I came back home from work. Jane looked so beautiful. My little angel looking as angelic as ever. I stood besides her waiting for Jake. She was a real beauty. I kept staring at her but she did not realize.

As Jake entered Jane tensed up. She looked scared and was all sweaty. When Jake shook her hands, she started shaking."My... hand... let... go." She struggled under Jake' s touch.

Has Jane met Jake before? No! It couldn't be. Jake was the kind involved in every kind of bad, underworld business whereas Jane was an innocent soul. She couldn't know Jake.

Jane clutched to my arm shaking slightly. She looked scared and I was worried. Jake asked her questions but she did not answer a single one. She kept looking at the floor.

"So Ms. Jane, tell us something about yourself." Jake said, smirking. Jane froze. Fiona, Hayden and I looked at her, confused while Jake kept smirking. Suddenly a tear slipped down her eye. Me, Hayden and Fiona were confused as ever. I clicked my fingers in front of her eyes but she did not react.

It angered me. She was crying and I did not even know why. It is all because of that Jake. I am going to kill him! I wiped away her tear and she came back to conscious. She excused herself to the washroom. I knew something about Jake bothered her. I must find out.

It has been around seven minutes and Jane has not been back. I was worried about her, I went to look for her. Just as I came near the washroom she came out. I pulled her back. She was very close to me. I could smell her lavender perfume. Her eyes were puffy and her nose was red. She was crying!

I was so angry now that I could've killed Jake now but I couldn't. He had a big deal which wasn't of only money. It was about a man I hated. He must be killed. Mark Watson.

But, at the moment Jane was my first priority. "What happened?" I asked through clenched jaw. She did not answer. Though I respected this decision I was sad, angry, hurt and pained to see that she did not want to share this pain with me. I turned to leave.

A small hand pulled me back and hugged me. I was overwhelmed. My love wanted to me to stay with her. She did not want me to leave. I hugged her back. She began to sob in my shirt. I tried to comfort her but she sobbed harder.

"Mike... please! Don't... l.. leave me." Jane cried. "Shh... please don't cry baby... I am with you." I cooed to her. Wow! Where did this Mike come from?

We finally went outside to where everyone was. Jake smirked as he saw us. Jane clutched to my arm harder, stiffening a bit. We sat on the dining table to have dinner. Just then Hayden' s phone rang.

Hayden' s expressions turned cold and grim. "Mike, we have to." Hayden said, nodding. I started to get up but Jane clutched my arm even harder. Her eyes started to fill with tears again. She shook her head.

I didn't want to leave her too, but I had to. I removed her grip and moved out. I was enraged though. "This better be good or you wouldn't be alive anymore." I warned Peter. "Sir, we found some sources about that Mark." The private investigator said, fear could be detected in his eyes.

I smirked. Finally!

Hey! How did you find this chapter? And the Flashback? I hope it was good. What do you think, who Mark is? Do you think Mike should've left Jane alone with Jake? What if she's in danger?  She certainly is. Please vote and comment.
