Natsume
I lied.
Sort of.
Do you really think Naomi would kiss me in the library? Do you think Naomi is that easy to fool? Do you think Naomi would really say the three long word I always wanted to hear her say to me? Do you?
Why all of a sudden?
Think again. It would be a shame if you haven't noticed.
We're making a trap to lure Miketsukami's attention out of Misaki. In other words, this whole kissing in the library is a play. Fortunately, when Naomi and I were sort of making out in the library, Naomi saw Miketsukami's intel. Sakakibara Koichi. He constantly follows Naomi everywhere. He's a member of the photography club. The camera Naomi ruthlessly murder with Kool-Aid was filled with pictures of her. Sometimes alone. Sometimes with The Golden Trio. Sometimes with Usui or Haruka. The recent photo was taken when that anemic guy, Ruki showed up in the middle of our conversation and the one with Azusa and Misaki.
All in all creepy.
Koichi is the member of the fraternity, Black demons. Another half-assed name of a group said by Naomi. Miketsukami is their leader. The Black demons had been watching us for years already. He's obsessed with getting revenge on us and winning Naomi at the same time.
Remember when I gave Miketsukami a bloody visit? I actually passed by his room. I saw pictures of Naomi scattered on his table which stunned me. From freshman up to now, pictures of Naomi were scattered in his room. I told Naomi about that which double crept her. Naomi made a research on his background a few years ago. Miketsukami had an obsessive disorder and has an anger management. Figures. In other words, he's crazy. Literally.
A crazy guy with good poet skills.
Burning light;
A star so bright.
A single choice made;
One betrayed.
And shall be wasted.
"I get it now," She said, drinking her second pack of Kool-Aid. I think her house is made out of Kool-Aid.
"You do?"
"Burning light; A star so bright," She recited. "A person. You,"
"Me? Why?"
"You said Miketsukami and you had a long history before, right?"
"Yeah. That was way back in elementary before entering a fraternity," I said. "Miketsukami and I were both on the same track and field team before. How is that relevant to the poem?"
"Asahina Natsume, you're a real idiot," She shook her head and threw her Kool-Aid. "Same team. Same history. Same brains hardwired with violence. For sure Miketsukami looked up to you as someone who inspired him, implying you as the star who shined and rise from natural talents until you quit. He felt betrayed when you quit and piss off your dream. That is the single choice you made and wasted,"
I didn't know what to make out of it. I was speechless. All of it was because of me.
His anger. His resentment. Everything.
Because of that, he quit the team and left his dreams to rot in the ground. Miketsukami and I were partners in almost everything in the team. When I quit because I was so sick of winning all the time, nobody could ever beat me which was pretty weird and pathetic said by Naomi again. It just wasn't me. I didn't know Miketsukami looked up to me as someone who would inspire him to do better. I was too blind to notice his side of the story that resulted in his anger and rage.
