"For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

Psalm 100:5.

....
....

It was a cool breeze that came through the open French doors. The humidity was undeniably overwhelming, although the thin material sheets rang the moisture in the air out around the sleeping bodies. The softly snoring bodies.

Alana had not slept this well for quite a while, running around constantly. Organizing her charities and doing economic projections left her drained at the end of the days while trying to stay consistent with mommy duties. Her eyes were resting peacefully, never able to fully stay asleep as the worries of other people filled her dreams.

The white walls had a blue tinge to them as the sun displayed the early morning sky. The open space of the room was always the main point of it. Open for inpromptu 'matches' of football and rough housing. Boys liked to roughhouse for sure.

Alana's eyes fluttered open as she heard a pebble enter the room. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked to the door, knowing that it was locked. She sat up, watching the window as another tiny pebble entered through the French doors. She sprung out of bed, hurrying towards the doors that lead to the balcony. It overlooked countryside scenery, as she grew tired of living directly in the city long ago. Her feet winced at the cooled ground.  Her hands latched onto the railing of the balcony, and she almost rolled her eyes playfully at the sight.

Andrew stood with his hands cupped over his mouth, which was drawn into a sly smile. Rebekah stood, sporting the same expression of amusement.

"Why don't you come down and play with us?" Andrew asked in a teasing tone. "Got the ball right here." Andrew kicks up the ball effortlessly into his hands. Alana contemplated running downstairs to chase him off while taking Rebekah inside, but she just smiled while perching her hand under her chin.

"Yeah! It's been a while!" The 7-year old girl smiled, waving her aunt towards with a toothy grin.

"You would consider a last night to be a while Bekinha?" Alana questioned her sassy niece. Rebekah shrugged with a smirk that resembled her father's. "I'm going to chase you guys now, you realize that?"

Andrew looked at Rebekah with a fiendish smile, motioning her to the ball.

"Do me the honors Bekinha."

"I'm no match for a master of the game. You do it, papa." The curly headed girl nudged her dad. Alana furrowed her eyebrows, wondering what they were to do next.

Andrew placed the ball down, as if about to he were determined to score a penalty. He took a few steps back, and ran towards the ball, striking it with his foot. It soared in the air, and toward his twin sister. She screamed as it flew over her head and into the room.

Alana's eyes went back to Andrew and her niece, and she nodded her head with lips drawn into a thin line. Andrew cracked a proud smile. "You better start running, Bekinha." He whispered to his daughter as they began to galantly jog.

Alana watched them go, before she burst into a sprint, skidding to a stop once she saw Neymar standing there. Drowsy, and holding their son's hand. "Oh! What are you doing up?" She bent down instantaneously, rubbing the cheek of her youngest son.

After retiring early from football, she and Neymar planned for a child. They didn't have to try for too long, before long, she was pregnant with Roberto. Although she wanted a daughter, they were blessed with two sons. She had gotten her wish to raise her children in Brasil as Neymar now played for Flamengo with Andrew following not too long afterward.

"Well, he wanted to see you." Neymar spoke to his wife in a groggy tone.

"See me?" She questioned with a laugh. "I just put you to bed, meu ninho." She touched his cheek softly.

She hoped that Davi hadn't kept Roberto and Thio awake with his talking, but then again, he was in a similar situation that Rebekah was in. Balancing between their mãe and step-pai to their pai and step-mãe's homes with two siblings on each side.

"Well, since you're both up, we should probably go ahead and chase your uncle and cousin. Huh?" Alana smiled, fixing his night shirt.

A smile sprung on the little brownskin boy's face.

"You? Pai?" He asked his father with a tug on his hand.

"Honestly, I don't know how Aira is fine with her husband kicking footballa into his sister's house." Neymar chuckled. "But," Neymar stretches, "I'm ready to beat him at his own game."

Alana began to giggle, taking her husband by the hand, and Roberto's in the other.

She was content, content with the road to being content.

And may you find it too.
