My eyes opened in fear. It was dark and the lights flickered every second. I was still trapped in the chair, but everyone else was gone. To my right was a tray full of sharp tools and utensils.
"Where am I?" I screamed as my teeth shattered.
A tall man with a black robe walked next to me. He had no face, instead a empty whole as black as night
"Who are you?" I asked.
He made a growling sound. And turned towards the table of knives. A sharp cling rattled my ears as he picked up a knife. I pushed and pulled at my stuck hand, trying to break free. He grabbed my arm with strength and slipped the knife into my arm dragging it down to my wrist. I screamed in agony. The pain was unbearable. Blood covered my arm and my hands were held tight in a fist.
"Come on is that all you've got," I shouted at the strange man.
He growled again picking up another sharp tool. He lifted my head and strapped around a band. On the band was 4 sharp nails directly hanging on my eye waiting for me to blink. My heart started racing faster then ever and my eyes burned. He then again stroked my chest with the blade, making me cry as I struggled to keep my eyes open.
With a sharp twist my eyes closed and my face filled with agonizing pain. Weeps and cries escaped my mouth as I begged for mercy.
All of the sudden the room around me went black and I no longer sat in the chair rapped in buckles. I stood in nothingness with no pain, no blood, and no scary man.
It was silent until loud stomps headed my way.
"Freya," it called in a creepy way. "Freya."
I started to run, running but never going anywhere. Out of the black appeared the faceless man with an axe in hand. I ran farther and farther as fast as I could go. My breath escaped my lungs, but I still pushed harder running faster.
Out of nowhere appeared a wooden door. I pushed with all the strength left in me and slammed it tight. With a crack the axe flew into the door exposing the sharp part toward my head.
My legs started moving again in to a bright light in the distance.
I heard voices coming from ahead. Voices that sounded like Jake talking to someone else. I headed closer to the soothing sound until I finally seen him standing, digging through a bag. I then realized that I too had a bag on my back. In two pockets was a water bottle and a knife.
We seemed to be in the forest. There is only one forest in the city? The sun peeked out of the tree branches.
"Oh hey Freya what way?" He said to me smiling.
"Why are we in the forest?" I asked.
"Well don't you remember you have been sent here."
"Why are you smiling and why are you here?"I asked again.
All of the sudden Jace showed up beside him. Smiling as well. In his right hand he held a knife and gave it to Jake. Jake took it gracefully and placed it on his stomach. He looked at me smiling and plunged the knife into his well crafted belly.
My hand fell on my face as I started to run towards him. Until I stopped.
Why would he do that? That is not Jake, he would never be that dumb.I started to back up very slowly, confused. As I got farther away Jake and Octavia started to disappear. The blood that had escaped Jakes body was no longer there, instead a big dark whole and at the bottom of the whole were deathly spikes. If I was to walk any closer to Jake I would have fell in.
A flash of light blinded me. My eyes shut from the whiteness an when I opened them I was back in the chair with my hands tied up. Everyone else was still in there chair too. Everyone was still asleep except for Octavia. She sat up free from the buckles. I could feel my buckles being loosened by Jake. I rubbed my arms front the rash left behind.
"What was that?" I asked.
"A mind simulation," he replied. "It made you feel all the pain and think it was real. It shown us how you would react in the forest when u come across certain things."
I sat there confused, gripping my knees to my chest. The memory of pain trickled through my head.
***
After a while everyone was up and ready to move. The twins were to dizzy to walk so we had to wait a while longer.
***A deep scream filled the room and shouts from every corner.
"What was that?" I asked.
"I don't know," Jake replied.
I bolted out of my chair and ran to the screams. Shouts fallowed me trying to get me back to my session. As I was about to turn the corner until a hand grabbed my arm.
"Where are you going." The British voice asked.
"Let go of me Jace!" I screamed. "What did you do?"
"I'm really starting to question your stupidity Freya. A boy just fell off the beam nothing major." He said with his snotty grin.
Screams filled the hall.
"Nothing major?" I asked, trying to loosen the grip on my arm.
"You really do live up to all your Stories Freya Unborn." He said pushing me into a near by chain cage.
"Why can't you just say something that actually makes sense?" I questioned
Metal twisted up to the roof creating walls and the door was closed shut, as I slammed on the ground. I pushed my self to a sitting position as I heard the screams fill the room.
***I could see Nick running. His face was completely red and covered with fear. He unlatched the lock on the door and opened it. His warm hands held tight around mine as he pulled me out. I stumbled over my feet as we ran away from the cage.
"What's happening?" I asked as fear shot through my body.
"Rebels stole a gun and now they are trying to rescue us. We have to go now!"
"Even if they are successful where will they take us? Well be hiding in the city for the rest of our lives."
We turned into a dark tunnel with no lights. Are feet pounded on the ground and I could her his heavy breaths. It was so dark I couldn't see his face. Or his hand gripping my hand as he polled me with him.
All of the sudden our hands disconnected and a loud shout surrounded me.
"Alex!" I shouted starting to tear up.
Out of nowhere a hand was firmly placed across my lips. As I screamed and shouted. The man quickly pulled me away in the pure darkness.
