Chapter 4

WILL loved school. Being surrounded by so many people just makes him so happy. He loves people and everything about them. You can see why he would want to be friends with Nico, since he is the first person Will met that was in his grade.

Of course, Will wonders why Nico hasn't said a word to him. He didn't think it was weird, he just dismissed it as him being shy. But still, being shy didn't mean he couldn't talk to Will at all. Nico could've at least said a simple hello.

Nico never answers the questions that Will gives him. He never joins in on conversations that Will tries to start with him. Still, things like that would never stop Will.

As they approach the school gates, Will tries to strike up a conversation, "So, Nico, can I see if we have any classes together?" Nico didn't seem to hear his question. Hazel nudged him and he looked up. Will asked him the question again.

He nods, and without saying a word, he opens the notes app on his phone and shows him his schedule. Will look at his schedule and then Nico's.

"Cool, we have 5 classes together!" Will says. Nico rolls his eyes then speeds up his walking pace, leaving Hazel and Will behind.

Hazel turns to Will, "I'm sorry about Nico. He's always like this. He doesn't like meeting new people."

"N-no, it's okay. It's just, I'm a little confused on why he hasn't said anything for the entirety that I've known him."

Hazels eyes narrowed, "Oh, that. I'm sure you'll find out why. It's not my place to tell you."

Will, a little confused, just nodded.

"Well, I should get to class. Have a good first day of school!" Hazel says to Will as she runs into the school.

Will, still very confused, just says, "Ok."
