Chapter 6

NICO couldn't believe how annoying someone could be until he met Will. He is just a big ball of sunshine, and Nico hated it. But, Nico couldn't deny it, Will is pretty hot. Not in a gay sort of way, cause Nico is totally not gay ;), Nico can just recognize beauty.

Anyway, Nico's next class is English, so was Will's. Nico wasn't mad that Will was using him as a tour guide, no, Nico is mad at the fact that Will won't stop goddamn talking. Nico thought about telling Will that he's a selective mute, but Nico's afraid to lose the one person (who's not his family) whose talked to him nicely, even if that person talks more than your aunt at Christmas dinner (you all know one aunt like that, just admit it).

This time around in class, the only available seat for Will was right next to Nico. The gods are against Nico today it seems. Will was blabbering on about something but Nico wasn't listening. The teacher was running late to class so Nico just started reading a book. Will finally noticed Nico's not listening and got his attention.

"Hey, Nico, I've been meaning to ask you. Why haven't you said anything since the moment I met you?" Will asked.

Nico debated for a minute whether he show ignore the question or answer it. After a minute of hesitation, Nico wrote in his notebook, 'Cause, I can't.'

Wills reaction to this was something along the lines of when you found out the homework was due today and not tomorrow; shock, confusion, and panic.

"Oh my gods, I didn't know you couldn't talk! I'm so sorry,"

'I mean, I can, but I choose not to.'

"Ohhhhhh, so selective mutism?"  Nico nodded. Will was about to speak but then the teacher walked in. Nico was thankful for the silence.
