You knew Matt would begin to sense the two heartbeats, instead of one. You knew he would figure out that you were preganant with his child soon enough. You two had talked about children, but he said he didn't want any until he wasn't daredevil anymore.
Over the past couple of days, Matt realized you had become very distant. When he would try to touch you, you would shy away, when he tried to kiss you, you walked away, when he tried to make love to you, you would shake your head, hold in a cry and walk away.
He just wanted you. You were terrified thet he would not be okay with the fact that you were pregnant. So you left. You knew it was stupid to run away from your problems but facing them right now was not an option that you had.
Matt came back to yours and his apartment, and called your name. There wasn't an answer. He shrugged and thought that you would be back later. He went to the kitchen to place down his sunglasses, and then his hand came in contact with brail. He furrowed his eye brows, and ran his fingers over it.
'I love you. And I'm sorry. [Your Name]' that was all it said. He bit back a sob at the thought of you leaving him, he stumbled over to the couch, the paper in his hands. He sobbed in his hands at the thought of not waking up beside you, protecting you, kissing you, making love to you, loving you. He couldn't bare it.

TWO YEARS LATER
Matt had never moved on. In his eyes, you were the only one who ever mattered. You meant everything and more to him. He had started to see someone, but as usual you were the only one on his mind.
The girl was nice but she wasn't you.
He wanted you.
He would only settle for you.
He walked threw a park, and then stopped at the smell of you. But it wasn't one heartbeat, it was two. One was not as strong as the other. "(Name)...?" he questioned. "Matt." you gasped and slowly pushed your baby girl behind you. Your daughters name was Ariel.
"There's someone with you. A little girl." he said. He slowly gasped, "Is she mine...?" he trailed off. "Yeah... I'm sorry I didn't tell you but I didn't know if you would want a child and I wouldn't put her up for adoption or get an abortion." you said softly.
"Can -- can I hold her..." you asked. You slowly sighed and picked her up and placed her in his arms. He slowly began to cry, and tucked her even further into his arms. "Oh my god." he said.
"You met someone." you said. "I don't love her. I still love you, she was just a rebound that I tried to fall for but I couldn't. You are mine, and you always will be." he said.
You lowly laughed threw your tears and pressed your lips to his, he couldn't resist you and slowly placed the hand that wasn't holding your daughter to your face.
The kiss was passionate. It was everything you both needed.
You were his salvation.
