I woke up in a lot of pain. I looked around the room I was in. It was dark and no light flooded through. I didn't need to see though. I knew where I was and what floor I was on. I was in one of the cells.I looked around and used my super sight. All around me were my friends and fellow Colors. I immediately felt pain in my temples and I released my vision. Only then did the pain subside. I sighed in relief.
I thought to myself that If I use my powers I felt pain. Clever, but not clever enough. How do I get out? I asked myself.
I looked at the door. I'm not tied down to anything. So where is the pain coming from? I asked.
I looked down and saw a small circular device on my arm. Ahh, that's how. The device was about as big as a watch face. It stuck to my arm. I tried pulling it off, but it gave me another wave of pain. I gasped and let go.
I looked at the door again and it opened. Bright light filtered through the room and I covered my eyes. A man in a lab coat came into the room and ordered me to get up. I did as he asked and he took me to Dr. Mitchell.
"Sit down." Dr. Mitchell said
I obeyed."Now, that little stunt you pulled, was reckless." he said
"It almost worked." I replied
He laughed, "It didn't though. That's my point."
"What do you want with us?" I asked
"To study your kind." he said
"It's not right to keep hostages." I said
"You mean your parents?" he asked with a glint in his eye.
I glared at him.
"I don't have them. You will be happy to know that I have no idea where they went." he said"Let us go." I demanded
He laughed again, "Let you go? There is no chance of that, sweetheart."
"What did we get to deserve this? You committed murder!" I yelled
He stared at me with expressionless eyes, "I did what I had to do to get that little boy."
"It didn't require killing Drew's parents." I said cooly.
He laughed, "You should have seen the boy's face when I killed them in front of him."
"You're messed up." I said sneered.
He grabbed my arm and squeezed it hard until I yelped in pain.
"Never call me messed up again. Do you hear me?" he said in anger"Y-yes." I said
"Yes what?" he asked a grin forming on his face
"Y-yes, Sir." I said
"Good. I can still control you." he laughed
To prove his point he made me dance. I felt like a puppet tied to a string and he was the puppet master. I couldn't do anything to stop him. I couldn't stop I couldn't do anything on my own. He controlled me.
He made me stop breathing and I started panicking inside my head. Then he released his hold on me and I gasped in air.
He laughed, "I could make you do anything I want."
I glared at him in disgust.
"I'll only use it if you disobey an order." he said
I still glared at him saying nothing.
"Okay you may go. Guards take her to the cell with the rest of her friends." Dr. Mitchell said.
Before I exited the door he said, "You won't escape this one, Tara."
The guards took me to the cell I saw my friends in. They threw me in not caring about being gentle. I hit my head on the wall and blinked back tears. Rowan came towards me.
"Here, let me." she said and touched my head. Immediately, it was healed.
"Thanks." I said
"No problem. Just know that I can only heal physical wounds. For example a stab wound. I cannot heal a broken heart." she said
"I get that." I said.
All my friends came and hugged me.
"We were so worried they would kill you." Maddy said
"I'm glad you're okay." Ian said
"What about you guys?" I asked
"Dr. Mitchell told us he'd control us one by one to kill the others." Andrew said.
"That's not good." I said
"I know, but we won't be able to help it." Cameron said
"How does he control us anyway?" Maddy asked
"Not sure." Justin said
"I know how." I said. They all turned to me.
"How?" Andrew asked
"He's a Color." I said
"How come we didn't see his color though?" Ian asked
"Because he is a White." I said
"White?" Cameron asked
"I thought all Whites were dead." Maddy said
"Not this one." Rowan said
"How do we defeat a White?" Ian asked
"We have to fight him out of our minds. Once we do it once, he cannot control us anymore." I said
"How did you figure this out?" Justin asked
"My memory came back." I said
