Chapter 7: The Plan

We sat in the car waiting for someone to come up with a brilliant plan on how to get in.

"We could have Justin electrocute the electric fence." Ian suggested

"Or Maddy could burn a hole through it." I suggested

"Yea, let's go with that." Justin said

"I could get some animals to attack the guards for us." Cameron said

"That would be too obvious. Maybe Justin could freeze them." I
suggested

"Yea, that'd work." Maddy said

"Now how are we going to find where they are holding Andrew and Rowan." Ian asked

"I could use my super sight to find them." I said

"Can you see through walls though?" Cameron asked

"I've never tried it, but I probably can." I said

"Okay so, Maddy will burn a hole through the fence, I'll freeze the guards, and Tara will find the other Colors." Justin said reviewing the plan.

"What do we do if we run into Dr. Mitchell or get caught?" Maddy asked

"We fight." Ian said.

"Okay we ready to do this?" Cameron said and pumped his fist in the air.

"Yeah!" we all shouted

"Then let's go." I said

We got out of the car and walked towards the headquarters. We walked carefully to the side of the building's fence and Maddy heated her hand with fire and burned a hole through the fence. We ran up to the nearest entrance and Justin froze the guards. We ran by them and into the compound.

"Tara, use your senses." Maddy said

I turned on my sight, hearing, and speed. I could see through the walls like I thought I would be able to. I heard guards coming towards us in the hallway before us. I signaled Justin to take them out. They rounded the corner, but before they could say anything Justin shocked them. I put a thumbs up and signaled for us to keep moving.

I saw that most of the prisoners were on the bottom floor. I looked through the walls to find a stairwell and I found one. I signaled for us to go left and down the stairs.

As we descended the stairs an alarm went off. A man said, "Alert, C17, Alert, this isn't a drill. Everyone get to the safe room. Alert..."

I rolled my eyes, but inside I wondered what a C17 was. I kept us moving down the stairs to the bottom level.

When we arrived, I motioned for Justin to take out the guards. He shocked them and they fell unconscious.

"So... where are they?" Maddy asked me

"Rowan is in the cell to the right of me and Andrew is in the cell on the left three doors down." I replied.

"I'll go get Rowan." Justin said

"I'll get Andrew." I said

"We should all meet up somewhere." Ian said. They looked at me.

"How about the control room on level three." I suggested

"Alright. We'll meet there." Maddy said

"Justin and Tara will free the others, Maddy, Ian, and I will clear the control room." Cameron said.

"Okay. Let's do this." Justin said.

We split up. Justin went to Rowan's cell and I went to Andrew's.

I jammed the lock open with one of the guard's guns. Andrew looked up at me with surprise. He was tied to the wall with his hands behind his back and a gag in his mouth. I untied the gag first and then his arms.

"Tara?" he asked in complete shock.

"You okay Andrew?" I asked him

"Y-yea. M-my parents..." He said

"I know. I'm sorry Drew." I said

"It's okay Ty." he said and smiled at me.

"Let's get out of here." I said.

Andrew and I went out of the cell and met up with Justin and Rowan. Rowan was Andrew's age and she looked at me with curious eyes. She had she same blond hair as Justin and the same cold blue eyes. She smiled at me and Justin nodded at me.

All four of us headed to the stairs. Justin looked at me and I looked for guards. I signaled for Justin to go and we went up the stairs to the third level.

The alarm was very loud and it hurt my ears. I covered my ears and turned off my super hearing. Justin looked at me with concern, but I just shook my head.

I heard the voice say again, "Alert, C17, Alert. Get to the safe room. Alert, ten seconds to get to the safe room. Ten, nine, eight..." I ignored it and walked into the control room.

Maddy had burned a hole through the door and we were now controlling the doors and locks. We looked at the cameras and saw that everyone was in the safe room.

"Why are they in the safe room?" I asked

As if in answer the hallways filled with gas. We all gasped with disbelief. They started filling up the hallways from the bottom floor first up to the top.

"Run!" I yelled at everyone. We ran. They followed me to the very top of the building. I couldn't get the trapdoor open.

"Here let me." Maddy said and burned a hole through it. I looked at her thankfully and we all climbed through. I looked at the compound and saw that the guards were coming with gas masks.

"Guys we have a problem." I said

"What is it now?" Rowan asked

"The guards are coming up here. They have gas tanks,gas masks, guns, and tranquilizer darts" I said

"We need to find a way down." Andrew said

"There isn't one," I said, "It's a long drop from here to the ground. We would get ourselves killed."

"So what do we do?" Justin asked

"We surrender." Maddy said

"I'm not going down without a fight." Cameron said and got his fists up moving from side to side.

"Same here." Ian said.

"Then let's give them everything we got." I said

We got into positions and waited for the guards to appear. They appeared and Maddy shot fireballs at them. Justin was switching between volleyball sized hail, jets of water, and balls of electricity. I moved fast between everyone taking away their weapons. Rowan shapeshifted into a bird and pecked the guards. Ian used telekinesis to make the guards slam into each other. Andrew used vines to tie the guards together. Cameron summoned a load of crows and they circled the guards.

We were winning at first, but then one guard hit Justin in the side with a tranquilizer dart and he fell asleep immediately.

Maddy started shooting fireballs at Justin's guards as well as her own. Maddy then got shot with the dart and fell asleep.

I kept speeding in and out trying to grab the dart guns. They shot Rowan out of the sky and she fell down asleep. She turned into her human self when she hit the roof.

Then they shot Ian with a dart and he fell asleep. Now more guards were showing up.

I started panicking. Will Andrew, Cameron, and I be able to hold them back? I asked myself.

Then Cameron was hit and all the crows left the scene. That made Andrew an easy target. He was shot with a dart and fell asleep.

All the vines that were covering the guards disappeared. I stared in disbelief. I was the only one they couldn't catch.

Finally I started getting tired and I felt a small prick in my side. I realized I had been hit with a dart. We failed, I thought before I fell unconscious.
