It hadn't taken me long to find a victim. I snapped a soldier's neck, feeling his body go limp. Yoyo had latched and sunk his teeth into the man's leg before letting go as he fell down dead. Rachael stared at me with complete shock.
"The hell... do you do this often?!" I paused, still smiling with blood splatted on my face.
"Eh, not often. Once or twice a month." I saw her shiver, and look at my face with shock and slight horror.
"You look freakin creepy gro..." I smirked.
"Really? Cool." I stood up, taking the soldier uniform leaving him in his underwear. I held out the suit.
"Here."
She backed away.
"Ew, I don't wanna wear that!"
I rolled my eyes.
"Baby."
She grumbled.
"Dude, you can't tell me you're wearing a real Brits suit a GUY had."
I shut my eyes in amusement.
"Au contraire. I happen to be wearing one right now." I gestured to myself.
Rachael grumbled, taking it. "Fine. But you OWE me." She walked away for a moment, leaving me to my thoughts.
My mind shifted to my parents. How are they? Are they wondering where I went? Do they need my help? Are they better off without me?
Yoyo bit my hand gently, looking up with his big brown eyes in reasurement. I sighed, still not knowing what to think. Sure, they're my parents. But did it matter? Was I holding them back, or worse, are they holding me back?
Suddenly, Yoyo burst into a growl. I looked in his direction, trying to see in the blinding snow. Suddenly I was struck in the face. I looked up at familiar pair of brown eyes, one set horse, the other man. It didn't take me long to figure out who both were.
"Scared, Greer?" He pointed his long machete knife at me. I knew my cheek and the top of my head was bleeding, but I stared in horror. I didn't have my gun. I was so screwed. My pupils were small as I stared eye to eye at my own horse.
"Lucky..." The horse was covered in armor, and a black mask covered his face. But I knew it was him.
Upon realizing who I was, the horse paused, thinking. The man whipped him, shouting, "Come on!!" Lucky brayed, throwing the man off and running behind me. He stood, running my way with the knife in hand. I stared in horror, as if my life was over.
Suddenly a gunshot was heard, and the man fell at my feet. He attempted to get up but fell back down to the ground.
I stood, looking over at Rachael, who held a .380, looking my way.
"I leave for one freakin' second and you almost get killed?!" She yelled at me. I didn't notice. I was in shock. Worse, I didn't have my gun.
The man stared up as us, Rachael was keeping a deadlock on him. I felt an anger build up in my chest.
"Shoot him."
"What?" Rachael looked over at me.
"Shoot this bastard."
She glanced between the man and I. "B-but I-"
"RACHAEL, SHOOT THIS FUCKER."
The man stood quickly, pulling out his gun and locking his gaze on her.
"Put it down or I'll shoot."
"No!! Rachael!!" Rachael grunted, irritated, and lowered her arm. The man put his gun in his pocket and ran off at a mad pace.
I growled and shouted at her. "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU SHOOT HIM?!"
Rachael gave me a angry glare.
"It was just a stupid Brit trying to get another American. What's the big deal?" I gave a shocked look. "EVERYTHING IS A BIG DEAL RACHAEL!! WE'RE IN A FUCKING WAR!! WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?!?!" She smacked the back of my head. "Keep shouting like that and I'll slap the shit outta you." I was still incredibly pissed, but held my tongue. Rachael was all I had right now. She was my only friend. And I needed her.
I looked at Yoyo, who stormed to my side, whimpering.
"Damn, that must hurt..." Rachael said, staring at me with worry. I saw Lucky race in front of me, and Yoyo began to growl.
"NO." I said sternly, making him back off.
I stood wobbly, walking towards my horse, meeting him halfway and I holding my hand out to gently touch his nose. I smirked. He whinnied weakly, pushing his nose into my face. I chuckled slightly.
I looked into his brown eyes, sincerity rising in my tone. "... Where's Zip?" Lucky looked into a certain direction, what I believed was north. I nodded, jumping onto his back and staring down at Yoyo.
"That way. Run ahead." I commanded him. Yoyo took off, running over the snow filled horizon.
Rachael came up next to me, staring at me. "How about I ride? You need to relax, you're losing blood." I sighed, nodding in agreement I shouldn't take the reins, so I took he hand, helping her up as she sat in front of me, taking the reins, while I leaned on her back, slowly shutting my eyes. I felt light headed, and I knew I had lost enough blood to donate for an entire blood drive. Which was ridiculous. Good thing my body was healthy.
I remembered my cats were in my bag, and didn't want to drop them. I could barely keep my eyes open. "Rachael, take my ba..." Before I knew it, I was passed out.
