As I sat in my room, I looked up at the warm sun, letting it bathe me in light. For once in a while, I felt calm. I wouldn't say I was at peace, but I was close.
I heard the gentle chirp of birds, reminding me of the many barn swallows that had fallen out of their nests when I was young. 8 would always put them back.Good times. Now everything sucked. I never got a moment to really think about what was happening. Until now.
I looked at my cats as they gave me an apologetic stare. I sighed.
"It's okay. I needed Mom and Dad to catch up anyway. You two did well." I rubbed their heads as the purred in thanks. I grinned.
"And I needed my little kitties to return for my plan." They gave me a tired and somewhat angry glance. I shook my head.
"Oh come on, it's not even that hard! All I need you to do is to sneak into the generals HQ, destroy the security system and sneak into the room and unlock the door so I can know their next plans."
They looked at me with a "are you kidding" look. I grabbed Waffle and pet her gently. "Think you can do that?" She seemed to roll her eyes, but nodded.
I looked over to my window, thinking about bringing Rachael. I came to the conclusion that she would know I was gone soon, and would cover for me, therefore I decided not to bring her along.
It would be a hard mission. And at this point, grounding didn't mean jack to me.
I walked to the window, expecting there to be a lock on it. Sure enough, there was. I took a small lock-pick from my bag, and put it into the lock, twisting and cracking it open with ease. I smirked.
"Thanks for the lock-pick, Dad." I allowed my cats to climb inside my bag and I opened the window. I climbed out, not looking back.
I skulked over to my horse, who was tied to a post close to the dirt road. I pet his nose, jumping on his back and kicking the heels of my boots into his sides.
"Giddy up." I didn't take long for him to start galloping at full speed, and I looked back at the small makeshift house as it became smaller and smirked, realizing how stupid I was being. But somehow, I didn't care.
* * * * *
I soon approached my "secondary home", the tall white building with bars over the windows. The so called "jail", which was empty. It was also connected to the embassy, so I knew where I could go. I pretty much knew the place better than my own neighborhood anyway.
I slowed Lucky to a trot as I stared at the building.
"On goes the hat." I put the tall cylinder-like hat over my head, looking into my bag at my cats.
"Ready?" Waffle nodded, jumping into my lap as I strapped a cam-machine onto her back. I released her and she walked to the front door. Then, I grabbed Jackson, taking the shedding comb and raking it through his fur. By the time I was done, he looked thinner. I then strapped a small animal collar around his neck and put fake blood around it. He struggled as put it around his neck.
"I know it's sticky and gross, but this is an important part of the plan." I took his claws, sharping them and then setting him on the ground.
I proceeded to open the air duct behind the building, while Waffle walked inside, disappearing within seconds. I then opened the door for Jackson.
"Get into the camera room before showing yourself. Be careful, and good luck." He nodded to me, walking inside as I shut the door behind him.
I sat next to Lucky, letting my cats do their job. I switched my tracker over to Jackson, watching as my plan unfolded.
"Hey look! A cat!" One soldier walked over to Jackson.
"Mow...." Jackson moaned, acting as if he was in pain. He touched the collar. "I think he hurt himself." Another soldier looked at him.
"Yeah, and that collar doesn't look like it's helping..." They looked at it, trying to get it off.
I never really realized that the soldiers were people too, but that didn't change my mind about them. However it was nice to see them trying to do some good.
I grinned, pushing the thought away as I prepared my plan. I touched the speaker.
"Now Jackson." Jackson kicked the men away as the collar flew away from him. The men gasped in surprise as the collar sat on the floor and Jackson ran out, and a silent explosion took place. I looked inside to see the men dead and all the cameras were down. With the cameras destroyed, so was their security. One down.
I walked over to the table, opening the drawers and looking for a familiar blue chip.
