Chapter 17

=Kid’s POV=

We decided we’d all take different paths. I took the west path, Maka the middle, and BlackStar the east.

“Alright, let’s get going.” I say, pulling out my hoverboard. Ugh! The letter R, sickening, I say, sickening! I go at an astounding speed, letting the wind flow over my body, hissing and roaring, like the snakes and the dragons would do.

“Wheeeee!” Patty says childishly, letting the wind hit her…. umm….. metal, at full force.

“Kid, can you slow down? I’m getting nauseous…..” Liz asked nervously.

“No, this is a matter of urgency and I shall treat it as such.” I narrow my eyes as the wind grew stronger, destroyed my perfect and symmetrical haircut.

Patty starts singing the alphabet song. “Patty, quit it! If you’re gonna sing it, sing it right!” I huff.

“How do you sing it right then, Kid?” Patty asked.

“Don't use the letters F, G, J, N, P, Q, R, S, or Z! Definitely NOT Z!” I scold her.

“Don’t cha think you take too far sometimes, Kid? That symettry thing?” Liz asks.

“Stop RIGHT there!” A voice says.

“Hmph…. you again…. step aside.” I say, guns pointed.

“Turn around and leave. You have no chance against me! I will destroy you without hesitation!” the figure steps out.

“Fine. I’ll take out then.” I glare.

“So be it, you’re just gonna die, ya know?”

“No. We’re winning again.” I smile.

“In the name of the DWMA….. I’m taking you down, Free.”

=Maka’s POV=

“Soul? I’m scared…. just remembering what she did to Crona……” I shiver.

“Are ya ‘fraid of the pain? Or afraid of the possibly of death? Or are you just afraid of confronting her again?” Blair says, annoyingly cleaning herself on my head.

“It’s just… her.” I shudder again. “Just seeing how she didn't care about attacking and possibly killing her own son, without any regret, pity, she even smiled.” I gulp.

“Yeah, she is pretty weird. That’s why you got us!’ Soul said. “We have your back till the very end.” Soul reassured.

I stop in my tracks, even skidding abit.

“What is it, Maka?” Soul asks.

‘I just… sense something.” I say, looking around. “Something just isn’t right.”

“I smell a rat!” Blair says, trying to be comedic.

“SHUT UP, KAY?! I THINK BETTER WITHOUT YOU’RE STUPID JOKES!” I shout.

Tears well up in Blair’s eyes. “Whatever, I really did!” she says, voice beginning to break, tears starting to fall. “Forget my help, then! I’ll just go where I’m wanted!” she runs off, then, I hear distant squeaking.

“S-soul? What was that?” I jump.

He sighs. “It was a rat. Rats, to be exact…. I hear 4…..”

“Oh my god… she was serious…” I say, feeling terrible, as Mizune’s had us cornered.

=BlackStar’s POV=

“WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” I smirk as I leap from tree to tree,just for the hell of it.

“BlackStar, slow down! You’ll get us caught by Medusa miles before we get there if you keep falling trees left and right.” Tsubaki sighed.

“Forget that! It’ll take millions of Medusa’s to take me out!” I smile.

=Tsubaki’s POV=

I’ve been unhappy. I’ve been unhappy for a long time. Ever since we were preparing, I was very unhappy with my relationship with BlackStar….. I hope I can tell him now, hopefully he’ll just lose some energy, but not his strength.

“BlackStar…..” I said dully. “I’ve been needing to tell you something I’ve been needing to say for a long time……” I say in a monotonous tone, as if someone just died. “I-” I froze. I just realized, our resonance would be ruined, possibly ruined forever……

Forget it. I need to say this. I don’t wanna do this anymore, so why put myself through it? “BlackStar, I’m brea-” I was abruptly interrupted by a voice.

“Ribbit, ribbit.”
