Chapter Four

"Wha-"

"My dog! Her names Gracie! She's a long haired chihuahua. Look." He says and I exhale loudly. He flips his phone around and I look at how happy he looks with his puppy. She's so cute!!

"Aww! How cute! How old is she?" I ask, eager to know about this cute little ball of joy!

"She's about six months old." He says with a glow in his smile. He truly cares about her.

"Is she with someone else? It's just that I didn't see her when I was at your house." I say and his smile fades a bit.

"Oh! She's at my sisters house. I can't have a dog on campus because of allergies and stuff. So, she's staying there." He remarks and I nod my head as I understand.

The conversations went on and on. Soon, it became late and we had to leave.

"Guess I'll see you tomorrow in class?" I say in hopes that he's there.

"Yeah. Guess you will. Bye Jade." He says and I say 'bye' back. Waving a good bye, I realized that I had no way of getting back. Quickly ordering an Uber, I make it back to the school in no time. Walking up the stairs and making over to my dorm, I hear a faint sound. It was coming from inside the room.

"Yeah yeah. She'll listen. I don't know what your so worried about! God!" And a slam is heard. Quickly whipping out my key and shoving it into the lock, I swiftly swing open the door and look around. On the floor is a broken phone and little pieces of glass all around. I look for a broom and sweep it up because it would not be fun to step on.
I dump the pieces of glass into the garbage and pick up the bigger pieces of phone. Placing into a plastic bag and sealing it, I place it on the counter and walk to my side of the dorm.

Plopping down on the bed, I slam the back on the mattress and let out an exasperated sigh.

"What's wrong? Rough date?" A voice says and I quickly sit up and stare at Jack. Rolling my eyes, I lay back down.

"Whatever." I breathe out and turn to face the wall. Closing my eyes, I feel someone walk towards me and sit down on my bed. He starts rubbing my arm back and forth, and starts to whisper in my ears.

"It's okay. Things happen." He says and I sit up and turn to him.

"What are you doing? Don't touch me and go away." I say and he gets up to walk away. What the hell, I think to myself.

Suddenly, a knock on the door snaps me out of my trance. Getting up, I open he door to a girl.

"Oh hello! My names Alexa! I'm dating Jack!" She says in an over peppy voice.

"Okay! Well guess what? I don't care." I say in a monotone voice and slam the door closed. Jack walks behind me and opens it, while giving me a glare.

"Hey, baby!" She squeals out and they hold a long, disgustingly sloppy kiss.

"Well, someone's thirsty today?!" I say and laugh. They pull away and Jack glares at me again. "What? Was it something I said?" I laugh again and walk away. Still chuckling to myself, I unlock my phone and a sting of text messages from Luke appear. I sit back down on my bed and open them.

Luke: heyyy

Luke: jaddeeeeee

Luke: where are you?

Luke: hello...

Jade: What's up?

Luke: ahh you're back

Jade: Yeah sorry. I had to deal with a little situation. My roommate broke his phone and left it for me to clean up. Im still just a bit salty. So beware!!

Luke: I'll take my chances. Soooo you excited for classes?

Jade: Kind of. I'm only looking forward to doing the homework.

Luke: What?!!! Wow...you're so evil.

Jade: Obviously, I'm just kidding. I want to do the homework and I'll see you too. Byeee

Luke: K. Bye. See you tomorrow

Locking my phone, I plug it into the charger and lay on my bed, perfectly content. Then, my vision goes dark and I scream.
