Chapter Six

Waking up breathless, I try to forget the nightmares that haunted me last night. I wipe away the sweat from my forehead and kick the covers off of me. Slipping out of bed, I go to my closet and get an outfit that looks comfortable for my first day of classes. I pick out a soft blue tank top and a pair of black leggings. Walking in to the bathroom, I close the door and change. As soon as I get out, I'm greeted by a face that makes me hurl; Jack. He looks away from me and bumps my shoulder with his as he walks by.

"What's your problem?" I mutter and look around for a pair of socks. When I find them, I go back to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. I then take my laptop and notebooks and pens, shove them in my backpack and grab my phone. Unlocking it, I text Luke that I'll meet him in Hallway B, right by the Medical wards.

(A/N: To be honest, I'm only in high school so I have like ZERO idea how college works but this is my best guess. Please don't hate on me for lack of knowledge, but it's just what I think it's like. Thanksss)

Confidently walking out the door, I bump right into another person that makes me want to hurl as well; Alexa.

"Walk much, biatch?" She says and stares at me with her colored contacts, caked on makeup and fake eyelashes. I only roll my eyes and shove her right back as I walk past her. She turns and runs after me.

"Excuse me!" She yells as she grabs hold of my hair. It's pretty long, so pulling hurts like hell. She balls it up in her fist and yanks my head to face her.,

"Let go of me right now, before I grab you and bash your face in!" I scream and pry her hands off of me and shove her away. Students from around the school stare in shock and some yell out "fight" and "kill her!" and even, "that's hot". That last one is pretty strange.

She balls her fists and puts them up to fight me. Before she could even throw a punch, James runs in and steps between us. He turns to Alexa and whispers something in her ear. She looks at me while he is talking and nods her head.

"Ugh, fine. I'm sorry for calling you a biatch, Jade." She says and holds out her hand for me to shake. I look at her hand and then at her with a "really?" face plastered on. She drops her hand and then walks away, swaying her hips as she moves. I roll my eyes again. She just pisses me off.

"Hey, Jade. Are you okay?" James asks as he walks up to me.

"Well, I may start premature balding because of her but other than that, I'm fine." I say and remember what James said yesterday about Jack. How he knew him?

"That's good. Anyways, I have to go." He says and I yell out before he leaves.

"Do you know Jack from somewhere?"

"Yeah, he's just a friend of mine." He says and tries to avoid the topic all together. He then says bye and walks away. Soon, Luke shows up and instantly, everything seems better.

"Hey. Mind if we go?" I ask and he looks confused.

"Yeah. What's the rush? We still have thirty minutes. Are you okay?" He asks, honestly concerned about me. I nod and we walk anyways.

"I don't wanna talk about it. Well, how are you?" I ask and he smiles.

"Good. Anyways, I was thinking that we should see a movie this weekend." He says and my face lights up. I've always loved movies, ever since I was a kid.

"That's a good idea. What movie?"

"I was thinking actiony and cool-y. Batman vs Superman is what I'm going for. What do you think?" He says and I nod, happily. I've already seen it like seven times, but I didn't want to ruin in for him or us. This could be good. As we walk to class, Luke slips his arm around my shoulder and I allow him to. We sit in the lecture hall next to each other and I pull out my notebook and take notes on the lecture about the body and some hormones that are released.

The entire lecture, Lukes body was close to mine, making my cheeks heat up and my face turn red. I squeez my legs together so maybe that would stop but it made it worse. Excusing myself, I walk to the bathroom but before I could reach the door, a person grabbed my arm, and I yelped.

"Ah!" The voice claps a hand over my mouth to muffle my scream.

"Shhh. Don't say anything, just listen." The voice says as he slowly releases his hand from my mouth.

"I'm here to warn you. Stay away from Luke. I can't tell you why and I can't tell you who I am, but I'm warning you. Stay away." He says and I just roll my eyes and scoff.

"Wow. You're so convincing. Well, you've wasted my time and I really have to pee, bye." I say and walk away, running to the bathroom. Who was that guy?
