Recap:
"I'm not. I promise." I tried to say in a firm and strong voice but it still came out weak and small. That was the thing. I could never stand up to my father no matter what. I guess it was because I knew what he could do. I had seen it with my own eyes.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••" I have to go out, but I'll be back later tonight. You better be here when I get back. In fact you better not leave at all." My father said as he finally released my chin.
"Yes sir." I said quietly.
As I watched my father walk out side I heard a truck pull in. Which meant the workers where here. Which meant Ashton was here. Shaking my head I just walked upstairs. I could hear my father speaking to them but all I wanted was to go to my room and change into something comfortable and maybe watch something on Netflix. I walked upstairs and threw my bag onto the bed. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. As I looked around I noticed my lamp was broken along with a few other things. At first I was confused as to why but then I remembered the events of last night.
I took my lamp and a couple of the other broken things and threw them in the trash. My imnd was racing with the events from last night. So close. I was so close to being raped by my dad's best friend. Tears started to sneak into my eyes. I just shook my head and walked over to the mirror. It was full length and hung on the door of my closet.
I pulled off my t-shirt to reveal some bruises that had been healing. They weren't to bad anymore they had just faded to the yellow bruises get as they start to disappear. Some had a little but of purple left to them.
"Who did that to you?" I heard someone say behind me. As quick as I could I put my shirt back on.
"Ever heard of knocking." I said as I spun around to see Ashton standing there.
"It was open. Now who did that to you? And don't avoid it. I'm not letting this go." He said stepping closer to me.
"No one." I said nervously looking to the floor.
"Lana please. I know I've been nothing but a dick to you, but if someone is hurting you let me help." Ashton said in the sweetest voice possible.
"Why do you care anyway? To you I'm just a spoiled brat." I said avoiding eye contact with him.
"Lana. I said that before I knew. I was arrogant and I was using a stereotype. Please Lana let me in and let me show you that I'm not that bad. I can help you." He walked over to me and set his hand on my cheek and had me look up at him. "Please."
His words made me want to cry. No one besides Frank has ever cared about me. Frank knew my father beat me but he didn't know how bad. I didn't need him to worry about me.
"Who hurts you Lana?" Ashton said in a quite and sweet voice.
I couldn't find the words I just felt tears fill me eyes. I couldn't stop them and for the first time I didn't want to. As tears rolled down my face Ashton pulled me into his chest rubbing my back and hugging me tightly.
"It's ok Lana. It's ok. I won't let them hurt you." He said calmly and sweetly. I stood there in his embrace crying. I had never fully let myself break or show emotion to anyone, but with Ashton it felt like it was ok.
