10 years later...
My life was like a roller coaster.
You know what I'm talking about. The beginning, the churning of your stomach as you are seat belted into the coaster car and the nerves digging themselves deeply into your skin.
The start, when the workers there give the final 'ready' sign and the operator then sends you off on a coaster you really wish you didn't go on. But you did it, so you could prove it to someone you were strong.
Then, as the cars go up and up the small hill of the ride, you look down to see the small bodies and figures of other amusement parkers who are just standing there, watching you and everyone else increase in height. Going farther and farther from the ground.
Just as you get to the top, you ask yourself why you didn't want to go on the ride in the first place. It isn't so bad! You tell yourself.
And then, the brakes let up on the bottoms of the cars, and a scream explodes from your mouth as the roller coaster plunges towards the ground and around every which way. Left. Right. Right again. Left once more.
You scream the whole time, your eyes closed and the wind blowing your hair back and almost into the face of the person sitting behind you.
But, the ride gets slower, and slower.
Then, comes to a stop.
You open your eyes, and see you're right back where you started. Seeing the looks on your family and friends, as if saying 'It wasn't so bad, was it?" and you realize, it wasn't.
You want to go again.
Well, that's how life worked for me. Being the daughter of an Alpha, people expect big things from you. Sometimes, you can't give it to them even if they ask you to do it nicely and eagerly!
But, you try anyways. Knowing, that if you fail, you can always try again sometime later because you're stronger.
Let me say this before going on..
There are two types of people:
The lucky.
And the not-so lucky.
Well, many people are born as the lucky.
People are with the looks. The talent. And they take advantage of it. Some don't, not realizing that they were born lucky. Others do, they get attention, friends, scholarships, boyfriends or girlfriends.
My two best friends were born lucky.
Charlene, born with the natural range of any soul singer. She has a heart as sweet as cherries, and the laugh that is so contagious, you can't help but to laugh ten times harder.
Kimberly, she was given the natural flexibility and gracefulness of a dancer. She can sing, dance, and play Viola while doing so. Although she doesn't see it, Luhan does. She's just beautiful, and when she denied it, I told her not to.
Nobody is perfect, but my two friends and new twelve are the closest there will ever be.
Me, on the other hand, am as far away as you can get. I went through Hell to get to where I am now, a music teacher teaching now at a local high school, major in music and music theory. It was hard, but worth every bit of it.
Why?
Because in the end, I can make people's dreams come true. I can do these things that nobody else can, for my style is unique and so special nobody can copy it!
I now have a handsome teenager and a loving mate to my left and right. I also have a loving family, which now consists of my mate, friends, family, and the Pack. I couldn't be any happier than I am right now, at this very moment.
So, anyways, I should fill you in on a few things, shouldn't I?
After Kimberly and Luhan's wedding, we all kind of... split up. We went our separate ways. At this very moment, Charlene and Kai are somewhere off in Hawaii. Raising a family, Living life to it's fullest. Kimberly and Luhan, on the other hand, stayed with the Pack. Along with me, Sehun, Tao, Chen, Chanyeol and Baekhyun.
As for Kris, Kyungsoo, Lay, Xiumin, and Suho, they stayed together and are living the EXO dream. They visit every once in a while, but it doesn't feel like how it use to.
Well, I am the new Alpha of the Melodic Pack. The strongest and most fierce of all of the packs in the United States. My second in commands, Kimberly and Luhan, do their job great with the conflicts and complaints inside the pack. My third in command, Tao, is amazing with the training. He is the one who got us to the top with our new fighting styles, you know!
And, of course, my Alpha Male. Sehun. He is an amazing leader, even though he denied it at first, after a few years the position warmed up to him like I knew it would.
JaeHwa, my only child and son, is flourishing. He has his father's looks and my eyes and hair, a simply unique boy. He is at the top of his class in high school, number one out of nine hundred and fifty-four students in his class. His music is amazing, he plays Cello (Like his mother) and he has the same teacher I did. If you want to be the best, you have to have the best teacher!
Sometimes, though, I wonder if this is all a dream. If, at some point, I would wake up from this beautiful dream and fall back into my nightmare of a childhood.
I don't want to wake up.
"Ariel, you have to wake up." I hear a voice say from above me, as I dig my face into my fluffy pillows and sigh.
"Mo..." I answer in the pillows, falling to sleep once again.
"Excuse me? Did Miss Alpha Female deny me?" The voice asks, a slight scoff to the voice.
"Yes, she did." I look up at Sehun to see a playful smile on his youthful face. To think, with all of the work and stress an Alpha can have, he still looks flawless.
"Okay then, back to bed." Sehun says, laying back down and wrapping his warm arms around me. I look up at him, and see a smile on his lips still. My heart flutters with happiness, and we sit there just staring into each other's eyes lovingly. It's quiet, before he breaks it.
"You know, sometimes I feel like this is a dream." He says, and I nod in agreement.
"I do too, but you know, it isn't. And for that, I'm happy." I explain, and Sehun places a small kiss on my lips before setting his forehead on mine and then looking deeply into my eyes.
"Now..."
I wait for the rest of his sentence.
"Now, you aren't tired anymore are you?" Sehun asks, and I gasp with surprise.
"You did this so I would wake up, meanie!" I say, sticking my tongue out at my mate. He does it back, and laughs as well.
"Now, you owe me breakfast." I continue, and Sehun sits up, putting his feet on the floor. I sit up as well, and he puts his arm underneath my legs and his hand behind my back, then sweeps me off of the bed. The bed sheets fall off and I yelp as he picks the sheets up off of the floor. He places them down oh-so-gracefully back onto our bed.
Not.
"I don't mind that one bit." He responds, and takes me downstairs to the kitchen to fix me food.
And we just lived like this for many years, loving one another the most we could, to raise our child and pack to the best of our abilities.
I don't want to stop riding the roller coaster of life. In fact, I want to ride it again, and again, and again, until I just can't no longer.
The End.
