Chapter 17: To Love is to Lose

So the next morning, Joy went to the resort early. The guys were still asleep in the room so I quietly snuck out and went to see Joy.

When I saw her, my face lit up. I somehow feel a bit relieved that this is still reality. I tried my best to explain everything to her without leaving a single detail. I was scared because at that moment, I thought she'd hate me again for not telling her about this sooner, but she hugged me, she hugged me tightly.

She apologized for not even noticing that somethings was bothering me. Even though Joy likes gossip so much, I trust her with this. She told me that she had to go since she didn't really ask permission to leave school.

I walked her out of the resort and when I went track inside, I got a bit lost. I admit I'm not that really good with directions. I wandered off and by the shore, I saw that there are cameras set up and stuff with all the lights. I think there's a photoshoot going on. I was just passing nearby and despite my current situation, I'm still trying to enjoy the morning sun, but then I noticed a camera flicker. When I turned around I saw a classy looking bald guy with weird glasses staring at his phone. He looked awfully familiar but I didn't mind it and just took off. When I asked a staff I was actually on the east side of the resort and he directed me back to the west side where we're staying at.

The whole day went by fast. We spent it sight seeing under the sun. Though I had fun but I felt incomplete since I haven't really talked to Adam last night. He's also not around right now. It's great that I'm getting close to Troy, Vince, and the guys but I haven't spent that much time with Adam. Whenever we met or talk, I always end up getting mad at him.

"Val.." Jungkook said who was just sitting beside me watching the guys play around in the beach.

"Yeah? Hey." I said.

"You okay? You look kind of...distracted." He said.

"I don't know, it's just weird. Do you know there's a photoshoot going on at the resort?" I mentioned.

"Yeah I saw them earlier. Why?" He doesn't seemed to be curious about it that much.

"I was just passing by and everything, and a guy took a photo of me." I said. It's not like I'm famous or something, maybe I'm just paranoid.

"Oh that's why you're acting all tensed up. Maybe he just wants your photo or something. You always blank out." He laughed.

"Yeah I do Space out a lot. But now, seriously it's just that, I'm kind of used to being alone most of the time and thanks to my friends at school, I've tried opening up to them as much as I can. Now that I'm here with all of you guys, it's just...amazing." I said. Gosh, why do I have to make things so melodramatic.

"It's amazing NOW, give it a few days...you'd definitely scream your head off by the sight of us." He laughed. Yeah, they're a handful, but there isn't a moment that I'm not smiling when I see them.

"Really? I can't wait." I sarcastically said.

"Actually, I heard that you said doing your academics was a piece of cake." He grinned.

"My gosh, who told you that?! That IS SO not true. I had sleepless nights because of Biology. It was no picnic honey." I sassed.

"Vince told me you got straight 'As' how's that for evidence." He said.

"Okay, I never said that I got straight ' As' , I said that it wasn't easy, it NEVER IS. I don't know why I'm even arguing with you about this." I rolled my eyes at him.
