Today I've been looking everywhere for that girl and I can't find her so I'm currently rotting in the indoor swimming pool because I missed two hours of practice when I looked for her.
Why is this happening to me? I haven't been this stressed since that time when I almost wrap dad's car around a tree.
"Hey" a voice that came from nowhere almost gave me a heart attack.
"AAAY! What on earth? Where have you been?! I've been looking everywhere for you." I said.
She can't even look me in the eye. She just kept playing with her feet.
She suddenly held out her closed hand in front of me, the necklace dangling from it.
"Here" she sounded annoyed.
"You finally gave in." I grinned as I took the necklace.
"I DID NOT!" She walked around me and stopped beside the pool. She crossed her arms.
"I---I just didn't know it was for your mom. I'm sorry." She said trying to look careless.
"I'm sorry too, about your mug." I said. I had to apologize. I mean, she's been hell bent on it when I accidentally broke it.
"My dad-----gave it to me." Her voice broke.
She just kept avoiding eye contact. I also noticed her breathing changed.
"Well, maybe he can give you another one.." I cheerfully said.
"Maybe he can't----anymore." She started to tremble. Her nose is twitching, I can sense she's about to cry.
Then there I realize what she meant.
I notice she squeeze the hems of her jacket. The atmosphere became so heavy suddenly.
"Valentine I'm so---" I was about to comfort her but she stopped me.
"I'm fine.." She stepped back and forced to smile.
Then I noticed she was so close into falling into the pool.
"Val, be careful you're on the edge of----" she took another step back when she finally fell into the pool. I hurriedly grabbed her hand but then she was already falling too far that her weight pulled us both in.
SPLASH.
She quickly rose up from the water and held onto me, her hands wrapped around my neck. Whoa, her glasses came off.
We both stared at each other for a while. Those eyes. . . . Those same blue eyes.
-Flashback-
"DANIEL! Here you go." A light brown haired girl gave me a juice box.
I kept crying. Like the weak 10 year old that I am.
"Stop crying already, you're gonna make me cry" She sat beside me.
I wiped my face with my hands.
"Tell you what, I'm gonna bring chocolates tomorrow to cheer you up. Come on, they're not gonna bully you anymore. You have me!" She smiled then she hugged me
-End of flashback-
I felt that very same feeling. It's----- it's her.
"Uhm, can you---can you help me get up on the ---uhm." She snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, uhm, of course." I helped her get on the edge.
