Tad POV
Dear Edlin,
I wrote this sitting in the camp's kitchen sink.
My job got changed. Ughh.
I am now the only boy along with eight girls (and their cooking skills are as bad as Ada's) in charge of making the infamous watery potato soup.
We also have a new menu item.
Put your hands together for vegetarian chopped liver.
Taking the lives of many people today.
Edlin, I will now tell you why you are reading this letter from a Tad that is very much alive.
Lean your ear close: because I bribed a guard.
You see, there are liars everywhere. This guard was secretly Jewish, and no one knew. No one (me) could figure out how no one found out.
But this one guard was only 25 years old. He had a wife, and 5 year old twins, boy and girl, names, unknown. His name was Berekiah.
Berekiah's wife stayed with the children in the camp, as prisoners. Berekiah vowed to let them out secretly. But someone found out. Meh.
In return of not telling his life threatening secret, i told him to mail these for me. But the way Germans are, he didn't accept it. He asked if i had any special ability. I don't classify my pathetic excuse of a drawing as legit drawing , but for the sake of you knowing what goes on here in my "great new home", I told him, I could draw. He asked me if i could draw his family for him. We only had about 10 minutes left before dinner, so while he gave me the descriptions of his family, I tried to draw them as real people.
It was kinda cute, having a person draw your family that you got stuck in the Nazi killing camps.
Then he had to leave to control what sounded like screaming.
P. S at least 3 people died from the chopped liver today.
Your friend,
Tad the best liar in the world
