Edlin POV
Entry 4 - (Day 6)
October 14, 1942
Two days ago I got some letters from Tad, although the first one was apparently written in January (?), when Tad and his sister, Ada, left.
I wrote Tad a letter, I don't actually know where he is but I met a man who said he could get it to him. The man was strange, but I didn't ask.
I wanted to write more than I did, but my mother has been watching me like a hawk recently. It's frankly kind of annoying that she's all of the sudden paying more attention to me than my brother and sister.
Always, always telling me, "Oh Ed, dear, you've got the most beautiful blue eyes, like the sky. I'm sure everyone knows this don't they?". Just a couple months ago she was telling me that I always looked bored and that my eyes looked "dead".
But now they're apparently brighter than a bed of flowers I can tell my sister doesn't like it, but my brother looks kind of proud, I guess.
I the blink of eye my mother went from being disappointed in me to loving me to no end.
So I guess it kind of a large alternation.
