Edlin POV
(War is Over)
A mass of American troops arrived in our town, I could tell from a distance I could almost feel the mix of happiness and sorrow radiating from the large crowd.
The emotions of those being reunited with others and families coming back together. And the pain of those who were grieving.
Despite all this, the only thing I was searching for among the mass of people were the familiar chocolate brown eyes that I knew so well.
My faith had momentarily come back as I spotted Tad's sister Ada.
When I saw her, the relief I felt was indescribable. I ran to her and hugged her saying how thankful I was that she was okay.
I was about to ask her where Tad was, but from the look on her face she already knew I was going to ask that.
We stood in a solemn silence for a bit, just thinking.
I didn't cry like before, I thought I would but I'd ran this scene over and over in my head that it didn't feel as real as it should have. I walked with Ada back to their small home, still not saying a word.
Which I was kind of glad for, I really didn't have anything to say..+
