A few hours later, I could not sleep, I was tired, the day was full of things I wished I could relive. I had missed her so much, and now she was here. I heard a knock on my door, I opened it, it was Madeline she was in her pajamas and her eyes were tear stained. "Madeline, whats wrong?" I asked her worriedly. "I-I have been having nightmares about people who are hurting me, It's been going on ever since I have stayed at Madoka's, I have been to busy to worry about it but now that I am not, they are coming, I am afraid that the villagers will come and get me." she told me, I pulled her into a hug, and went to sit down. I could tell she was trying so hard not to cry, "It's ok Madi, it's ok, I promise, I am here," I held her tighter. "Ryuga I am afraid." I felt a tear fall onto my lap, I looked down and she was crying, despite her efforts. I kissed her head, "It's ok, I won't let them get you," I told her.

Madeline's POV

Ryuga had me in his arms, holding me and telling me that it was going to be ok. The dreams kept coming and I hated it, I wanted them to stop. "Ryuga, did I wake you?" I asked through tears. "No Madeline I couldn't sleep, you did not wake me," he told me with another kiss to my head, I loved it when he did that. "Are-are you sure?" "Yes. Don't worry." he reassured me. "I'm sorry..." I said after a moment. "For what?" "That my first night here, I am crying in your arms." I told him, and that just made me cry more "I feel like I am putting myself on you, annoying you because of my nightmares. I feel like a burden that is a pointless piece of dirt." "Madeline," He made me look at him, "you are not a burden, and you are not a pointless piece of dirt! And trust me you will know if I am annoyed. I don't mind this at all, you are having nightmares about people who want to hurt you maybe even kill you, I am here for you, I told you that i would protect you and if that means holding you in my arms to calm you down because you are afraid, then i will do that! Madeline, i care about you, i have for as long as i can remember, and i am not going to let you be terrified or alone and do nothing about it you are my best friend, I don't have any friends here, just allies and people who just want me to use this new power for their own intentions, but now I have you, and I won't lose you." he stroked my hair, I wanted to stay in his arms forever, "Thank you," I told him, burying my head in his chest, he was in his pajamas, which consisted of just sweat pants. He smiled at me and kissed me, not on my head but on my lips "Madeline I am here for you, I don't want to hear you calling yourself a pointless piece of dirt, because you are not! Understood?" I nodded. And he hugged me tighter, and there I fell asleep.

I woke up wrapped in Ryuga's arms, we had stayed there all night. He was still asleep, and he looked so cute when he slept. I smiled and stayed there till he woke up, it did not take long, and when he did wake up he caught me looking at him, "Madeline what are you doing, were you watching me sleep?" he asked his eyes still closed, I quickly turned away my head, because I was blushing so hard, "S-sorry, i-i'll go" I stuttered and started to get up but he held me there, I tried again, "No." he told me, I was now scared, "are-are you mad?" "No." he gave a smirk, opened his golden eyes and looked at me, I was relieved he was not mad. "Are you ready for training today?" he asked relaxing his grip, I jumped up. "Yes! I am so excited!" I told him. "Good, we will start after we eat breakfast, ok?" he told me with a smile. I went back to my room and changed into a new outfit the I had gotten while shopping with Madoka, it was a blue top that matched the eyes of my crown which I also wore, and a black skirt.

I walked out to see Ryuga dressed and waiting at my door, "Are you ready?" he asked me, "Yup!" I said taking his outstretched hand, we walked a little bit when I heard a "Who are you?" I turned to see a little boy with orange hair. "Yu this is Madeline, Madeline this is Yu," Ryuga said inducing us, "Hi Yu," I shook the boy's hand, "It's nice to meet you Madi!" He said using my nickname, Ryuga rolled his eyes, "He gives nicknames to everyone except me and Doji." "yea because Ryuga is sooo cool! Wait, ryuga she has your crown!" "No Yu that is Madeline's crown." "It looks just like yours!" Yu said with a sparkle in his eye, I smiled, "Call me whatever you want, I don't mind," "That's good! I think you're pretty cool too!" he gave a really cute smile. "Alright Yu, do you know if breakfast is ready?" Ryuga asked him, "It is, although you better hurry, before we eat it all," he gave a big smile and ran off. "He is so cute!" I told Ryuga, "Yea, he gets annoying though, let's go get something to eat, I am hungry."

We walked to the dining room, there was one long table where a lot of people were there eating. Ryuga walked to the end of the table and took a seat at the head, he motioned for me to sit beside him. Everyone was staring at me and I got really nervous. I heard whispers that said "who is she?" "what's with the crown?" and several more, I looked at Ryuga, who looked back, "are you ok?" he asked quietly, "no, why are they all staring at me?" "because you are new, and you are wearing a crown that looks just like mine, plus you are talking to me and sitting by me." I nodded and continued eating.

After a moment one person spoke up, "Why are you talking to Ryuga? Doesn't he scare you? Because you should be scared, why are you sitting by him, do you think you are, his little pet? And what is with the crown, are you trying to mock him? Who do you think you are?" The man who spoke was big and fat. I was scared, the others looked at me to answer the questions, I wanted to just melt there, disappear. Ryuga stood up and glared at the man. "How dare you! She is not afraid of me and she shouldn't be, she is most certainly aloud to talk and sit by me, she is not my little pet. Her crown, I gave her that! Can't you see that she is already nervous, this is a new place for her and you make her uncomfortable, you do not know her!" Ryuga yelled, he was angry, his eyes grew smaller. "Get out!" the man got up and walked out, "I-I'm sorry." He told me and Ryuga. Ryuga just growled, I was shaking, I have never seen Ryuga mad before, and now that I had, it scared me. Ryuga took a deep breath and sat back down. "Madeline are you ok? He asked me, I sighed "Yea, I am, I just have never seen you mad..." "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I was just mad he said that to you," everyone in the room was shocked, they had never seen Ryuga defend someone like that, especially a girl. "Thank you," I gave a small smile, and he smiled back, then turned to the rest of the room "What are you all looking at?!" he growled, they all looked at their feet. After a few moments Ryuga stood up, "Listen up!" everyone looked at him. "This is Madeline, she is new here and is to be respected just as much as I am, you all will treat her with kindness, or all of you will get punished," he smirked, "This punishment will be harsh and I doubt any of you want it." he looked at me and smiled.
