My name is Felicity Bloom, codename Day, and I am the sidekick of Nim City.
She is Holly Blackwood, codename Night, and she is the hero of Nim City.
Nim City is not a peaceful place. Think New York mashed together with Chicago, with just a sprinkle of Seattle for flavor. Nim City is a metropolis in the southern region of Maine. Come see our rampant crimes and shady shipping yards. Marvel at the towers of steel and iron and glass, and delight over the fact that you will probably leave without your wallet.
It's great fun for a hero (or a sidekick). So many dastardly deeds and crimes to solve! Night and I even have a base! It's more Night's base than mine, because, well, she is the hero. Night also owns the building our base is located in. Night is the CEO and founder of the biggest company in Nim City, Blackwood Collective. It's a fashion company that makes clothing for regular clientele, and superheroes.
Night is beautiful. There's no real argument there. Her unblemished chocolate skin, and her clear blue eyes, her long pristine white hair with strands the color of the void between stars. She has a confident smile, and her eyes seem to dance with challenge. She always knows what she wants, and if she wants something, she'll get it, with or without help. Night, or to the general public Holly Blackwood, can control the darkness. I'm talking all out here, she's quite fast, she can manipulate the dark as camouflage, she can create weapons, she can absorb light, and she can create a dark 'mist.' The mist is where the real scary stuff is. She takes pride in what she wears. Her hero uniform for example. It's a blue sleeveless jumpsuit with black color blocks down the center and the middle of her legs. The black center is covered in stars, and the sleeves of the black extend beyond here the blue ends, stretching down the outer part of her arms to the black gloves she wears. She wears her hair in a loose braid over her shoulder, with her mask a black lensed starburst pattern over her face. If she needs to, a black blade made from darkness extends from her gloves. That's usually a last resort though. Holly is a hero. She really is. It's just, sometime, she can be... obsessive. Like, don't get me wrong, she knows what she's doing and she does it, but she spends a lot of time focusing on the work... and the occasional alcoholic beverage. She knows if you screw up in a fight, she'll tell you what you did wrong, and that you need to train harder, then she'll go back to pouring over the details and the different aspects of the crime with a bottle in her hand. She's a bit like Batman I guess? Always working, no time for anything (anyone) else. She says, "I probably do have an obsessive personality, but striving for perfection has served me well. Tom Ford said that. He was right."
I'm... alright. I'd say I'm pretty average. Like, you'd see my face in a crowd and think, 'hm, her eyes are red.' And then you'd continue on with your day. I have golden skin, red eyes that have the tendency to glow, and a blonde pixie cut. I play with fire. Literally. I can shape, create, absorb and manipulate it. As well as flight, I'm also quite strong. Not Superman strong maybe, but definitely strong enough to push say, a forklift. I think my powers are pretty cool actually! I like my uniform too. Fancy but strong golden armor protect me. My arms are bare, and under the armor, I have a thin, sleeveless gold jumpsuit. As for a mask, I have red designs around my eyes, and that's about it. We don't really do much by way of "secret identity." Occasionally, I will summon a sword made from flame. And no, I have not said "let there be light," I'm saving that for when I feel it's really deserved. I have a temper. You know about solar flares? When the sun throws a great whip of flame into space around it? That's kind of what happens with me. The room heats up and things start igniting. I'm usually calm though. I like to keep a positive outlook on life! After all, it won't last forever!
