2 - Wasn't Ready

" Finally, we're at school", I spoke relieved I no longer had to have these annoying conversations with my beta.

I love/hate school. I love it because I get to see my friends which I have a limited amount of time with and a limited amount of friends. I get to socialize and there are really beautiful ladies here. I hate it because I have to see all the girls I've brokens heart, which sucks because not all of it my relationships ended on a good note.

Some of the girls are still in love with me sadly, but I could never reciprocate those feelings. But the majority of my exes are cool with me, mostly because I may have have broken their heart in the end, but I never cheated on any of them, or treated any of them badly in any kind of way. As a matter of fact I always tried to make them feel important and beautiful because they are. I always kept a smile on their face because everyone deserves to be happy.

Except me.

With all things I've done I don't deserve anything. With the stuff that's happened to me. The Moon Goddess must think the same to put me through this, or she just hates me. She probably didn't even want me created, like I was a mistake, she probably just thought 'Hey this may be fun, let's see how this goes' why else would she put me though this. It's simple. I don't deserve to find love or happiness. I wasn't made to find love or happiness. Last time I tried, it backfired bigtime. Now, I have some serious trust issues but I'm glad that it happened. Now I don't let anyone in I just push everyone away. ' What a good mate I am ' I can't be honest or even open up to my own best-mates.

Long story short, I'm worthless.

"Hey 'K' I just got a text from Sammy, she said that we need to get to school like, Now so Get Out!", he said getting his backpack and leaving the truck then he opened my door took me out and started pushing me towards the school.

"Gosh, can you at least wait for me to get the keys and my book bag out of the car?", I said stopping him "Well hurry your but up I'm getting tired of you being so slow when I say we need to hurry up"he said angrily. I don't know why but, That's when I lost it. "Alright I'm done!", I said to him agitated "Finally, it's been forever come on let's go", he said impatient. "I'm not talking about getting my stuff but I have gotten it. What I'm talking about is I'm done with you being a douche towards me I'm serious I have had it up to here", I said pointing upward. " You keep calling my girlfriend 'chick' when you know her name, said that she would break my heart, called me slow, but most of all you made my wolf sad by saying that our mate would reject us." I growled at him showing him how fed up I was.

I usually don't get this angry with him but this time he brought up my mate and I felt extremely disrespected with his attitude. " You may be my 'best-mate', but it doesn't mean I won't show you your place, right now." I growled at him my wolf about to come out my eyes turning pitch black out of anger.

He put his head down and pouted. I know that he felt bad so I lightened the mood "Since you think I'm such a slow poke I'll show you how slow I am" I provoked him and he got the message "Human speed. On your mark...Get set...go", he whispered the last part so I couldn't hear it but mission failed cause I did.

I went pretty fast but not even at my full human speed because if I did he would think I was using my wolf speed so I was basically jogging and he was right behind me. There was this amazing smell in the air coming from the school and it only made me want to get there sooner so I unconsciously started to speed up. Jay's panting brought me back to the race so I started to slow down and acted like I was breathing hard to make him think I was tired. Then as we got to the school's entrance. I got right behind him and tripped him. When I tell you he fell hard I mean he fell hard and the thing was he tried so hard not to fall. Funny thing is that just made the fall worse.

He landed on his shoulder and started rolling and the people outside of the school stopped everything they were doing just to watch Jay roll like a bowling ball. He was rolling for a few seconds before he got up, but the thing was he was right next to the door to the school so when he got up he was so disoriented that as he got up he tried to look cool and do that thing where you put your weight on your back and jump up with you legs, you know the way ninjas get up off the floor when they're on there back. Well he did it successfully but he didn't realize he was so close to the door and while he was doing the flip he hit his head on the door Hard. This whole time I actually didn't laugh, but that just caught me off guard and then I started to laugh and when I laughed I think I started something cause everyone else began to laugh as well.

So after I was out of my laughing spell. I picked up his book bag that flew off of him when he started to roll and I walked over to him, trying to help him up but he slapped my hand away " I don't need your stupid help, I'm not crippled. " he spat. "Man, is that the thanks I get for trying to help you? ", He stared coldly at me then he snatched his book bag out of my hand and stormed off into the school dragging his book bag on the floor.

It was like it happened in slow motion, one of the loops on his book bag caught his foot and when he went to take another step forward he lost his balance and fell face first on the floor his forehead kissing the marbled floor. God did that look painful I mean it was even painful to watch it kind of made me cringe.

If he thought falling outside was embarrassing then he must have been extremely mortified at this moment. Everyone began to snicker. The funny thing is, now that he was in the school I realized that no one was left out from seeing him trip the people outside and inside saw it. I walked over to him to try to help him up again he smacked my hand and to be quite frank, it was starting to piss me off so when he was on his hands and knees I walked on his back causing him to hit the floor again.

I began to walk off of his back as I got to the floor. I turned my head to look down at him " I just want you to know, this all could've been avoided if you didn't talk about my mate. Think before you speak beta".

As I began to walk away my spidy senses tingled and I felt a hand on my foot assuming someone was attempting to trip me I twisted my foot and stomped on their hand. I saw that it was Jay, what an idiot. He yelled out in pain " Next time use your brain Jay. Cause unlike you I'm always on guard". I growled at him. He diffidently wasn't ready.
