Alonzo Flemington
I sat across from Samantha and watched as she finished up her food quickly, it was so cute to see how focussed she was; without letting one single bite go to waste. I smiled to myself and took a sip of my coffee, then sat it back on the table. "This place is really good Alonzo," she covered her mouth as she spoke, then leaned back in her seat so she could finish what she had in her mouth. "I'm going to make a mental note to visit this place the next time I come back to Toronto."
"The next time?" I raised my brow and took a piece of bacon off my plate, stuffing it in my mouth. "Where are you headed to?"
"Wherever the tour bus goes, I go." She drank a some of her orange juice then wiped the corner of her mouth. "Now that I am not stripping; I'm a video girl, I'm on tour with the manager for Migos, so wherever they go, I follow. I attend events with them, dance around on stage at some of their concerts, fun stuff like that." She pushed her plate forward and placed her hands against the table. "In return I get to make a little money while I travel the world for free."
"Interesting." I smirked, and finished up what was left on my plate before pushing it forward as well. "So, I won't be seeing you again."
"I'm afraid that you won't be."
"I see."
"Remember, this is just a one night stand." She began to giggle as the words flew out of her mouth. "The longest one night stand I have ever had!"
"Me too!" I chuckled at the thought, "there's a first for everything."
"Yes, there is. At least I know I won't forget you." Samantha licked her lips and looked out the window next to us, watching the traffic roll by Poppy's.
"So, since this is the last I will be seeing you; tell me a little more about you."
"You're too damn nosey."
"Maybe I am."
"No maybe, you are. But let's see what is there to tell?" she shifted in her seat, then looked me directly in my eyes; comfortably. "My full name is Samantha King, I'm 22 years old; turning 23 in May, I'm originally from New York, my family moved around a lot because my dad was involved in a lot of things he shouldn't have been in, and had a lot of people after his head. Once he realized he couldn't run any longer he moved down here actually, when I was 14. My mom and I moved to LA and he communicated with us regularly, but one day it all stopped. We never heard another word from him; my mom got depressed and turned to drugs... she died and at 16 I was homeless, hopping from neighbor's couches until I met Blue. Blue started me with a couple nights a week, he paid me well too. Eventually, I got better and was one of his main acts. 7 nights a week, making stacks baby!" she stuck her tongue out, leaned over and started twerking on the seat, our waitress walked over to clear the table and Sam stopped, sitting upright and playing with hair as if nothing happened. As soon as she was gone we both busted out in a fit of laughter, I shook my head and she pointed in my direction. "Your turn."
"Hmm, okay. My full name is Alonzo Higgins I was born and raised here, haven't left the city and don't plan to quite frankly. I had a pretty rough life growing up, we didn't have much, my father was beat my mother and I had to witness it until the day he died. After that day I changed my last name back to my mother's maiden name; Flemington." I swallowed the lump that grew in my throat at the memory. "I got involved in a lot that I shouldn't have been, but I had to keep the lights on in my house. I basically had to put my teenage years and dreams of being a doctor to a halt and take care of thing. As if taking care of a household wasn't enough; I got a girl pregnant at the time, her parents basically accused me of rape and I went away for a while until my name was cleared. When I got out; despite everything raised my baby girl, and continued to take care of my moms the best way I knew how." I shook my head and looked up at her. "There's a lot more but it's too much to speak about right now."
