Alexandra Phillips
"Goodnight Officers..." I said, opening the door just enough for them to see me but not be able to see inside the apartment.
"Sorry to bother you ma'am, we are just going around the neighborhood asking a few questions. Do you have any time?"
"Questions about what?" I leaned against the door and rested my head against it as I looked up at the two tall men that stood before me.
"There was a crime that took place earlier tonight, we have highway surveillance of the Black Camaro; license plate GH67 87Y and believe the attacker could be within the vicinity. Before I ask you anything, just know that you are not obligated to answer anything that you don't feel comfortable answering." I nodded my head and one of them flipped a notebook open, "do you know a man by the name of Christopher Muller?" the held up an old mug shot that looked nothing like Chris now, his face was chubby back then and he looked super high. I wanted to laugh but I chose to keep my composure until later. "Doesn't look familiar at all..." I said, squinting my eyes as I looked over the picture.
"Understood, and does anyone else live with you that we could possibly ask?"
"Well, I do live with my boyfriend."
"And is he inside the home?"
"Yes he is..." I smiled, knowing that they were probably behind me; listening to everything I was saying. "But he's asleep right now, he just started his residency at the hospital and you know how the hours could get."
"We understand, he doesn't sound like the kind of guy to know our suspect." One of the officers gave the other a look and they both nodded at me. "Alright, thanks for your cooperation. I hope you have a good night.
"You as well!" I waved them off, watching them walk to the apartment across from Alonzo's. I waited for the neighbor to open their door before I stepped back inside. I locked the door and felt his arms wrap around me. "You're amazing!" he whispered, pulling me into the living room where Eazy and Chris both wore grins across their faces. I rolled my eyes and pulled his arms away from me. I may have helped him, but I did not forget what he had just said to me.
"Don't think that means anything." I hissed, backing away from him. "Once they're gone; I am out of here and you can deal with them on your own."
"Keep it down," hushed me and tried to pull me into him again, but I brushed his hand away. Frustration came over him and he grabbed me by my waist, throwing me over his shoulder as he walked me into his bedroom. Alonzo sat me on the bed and stood in front of me so I was forced to look at him. "Look Alex, I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't fix anything Alonzo!" I stood up so I could get some height on him, but he was still towering over me. "Words cut deep, and after what you said tonight; I didn't have to do what I did for you tonight."
"You didn't, which is why I am thankful and I appreciate ev−"
"Shut up!" I pushed his chest hard, sending his body back a little. "I can't believe you would say that to me, in front of your friends. I thought we could've had something, but I was so wrong about you. You are just like every other guy!"
"I'm not." He rubbed his chest and walked back over to where he stood before. "I can explain."
"I don't want to hear it, I want to go home where I am wanted..."
"You're wanted here!"
"You just told me I wasn't, you're only switching up now because I saved your ass and we're in this room away from your friends." I sucked my teeth and brushed past him, opening the door of the room. I walked out to the front door and looked through the peephole to see if they were gone. Once I saw that the coast was clear; I grabbed my things and slipped on my shoes. I looked behind me to see Alonzo coming my way, but before he could; I opened the door and left.
I walked through the back of the building and made my way over to my car, I jumped in and let out a deep breath. It felt good to get out of there. As I started up the car, I looked ahead of me to see if maybe... just maybe he would chase after me. I sat there in my car for a few minutes, and saw nothing. I knew it was too good to be true.
Alonzo Flemington
"She just saved my ass!" I yelled, rubbing my hand down the side of my face. As I was about to walk out the door after her Eazy stopped me.
"That was tight, but that doesn't change the fact that we have a lot more to deal with. Yes, she got them off our ass for now... but we gotta stay focused. Just let her go." I pushed his arm away from where it blocked me, and leaned my head against the wall. Apart of me wanted to run after her so badly... but once again, Eazy was right. I needed to stay focused.
