Chapter 8 (Finale)

In the Gordon household, Alison was still untying the rope that had her and Diana bound to the bedpost. They successfully broke free. Zep was still watching Adam and Lawrence on the monitor. He noticed the time was up. He walked back into the bedroom, where Alison quickly replaced her and Diana's gags and sat still, so Zep wouldn't know that they had broken free.

Zep knelt down next to Alison, withdrawing his gun from his belt and looking at her with wide eyes.

"Dr. Gordon's time is up," he said calmly. "Now I've gotta do what I've gotta do, and I'm afraid it has to be you that tells him he failed." He pulled out his cell phone and dialled the phone in Adam and Lawrence's cell, then he undid her gag and put the phone up to Alison's ear, with the gun to her head.

In the bathroom, the phone rang, startling Adam and Lawrence. Lawrence picked it up and answered it.

"Is that you Zep, you bastard?!" he growled fiercely. "I know it's you, you son of a bitch!"

"Larry?" Alison said.

"Ally?" Lawrence said, his eyes widening.

"You failed."

Alison grabbed Zep's gun and pushed him over to the left. He was taken by surprise. The gun fell on the floor and Alison picked it up and aimed it at Zep on the ground.

"Don't move! Stay on the ground!" she yelled at him. "Give me the phone. Give it to me!"

Zep sat up a bit and carefully slid her the phone. Alison, still aiming the gun at Zep, picked up the phone and put it to her ear. "Larry?" she said.

"Ally!" Lawrence said on the other end. "Honey, are you alright?"

"No!" Alison responded. "No we're not..." Zep started to move his right hand, but Alison threatened him fiercely with the gun.

"Don't fucking move! Larry, where are you?"

"I don't know," Lawrence said. "I'm being held captive in a room somewhere."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm so sorry, Ally." Lawrence started to sob.

"Honey, we need you here!" Alison was desperate.

"I'm sorry for everything!" Lawrence cried. "It's my fault, please forgive me. I've always been happy with you."

"Mommy!" Diana cried out suddenly. Alison turned to Diana, then Zep leapt from the ground and grabbed the gun from the hand. They started struggling with it on the floor. Diana was still screaming. As they were wrestling for gun, a shot was accidentally let off.

"Ally!" Lawrence yelled, hearing the gunshot through the phone.

Tapp, who was still in his apartment looking out the window at Lawrence's house, also heard the gunshot and picked up his handgun from the table and loaded out, then quickly headed out the door and into Lawrence's house.

Zep got behind Diana and tried to grab her but Alison kept her arms and the gun upwards. Another shot was fired.

"Ally!" Lawrence yelled again through the phone.

"Mommy help me" Diana screamed.

Zep got the gun in his right hand and wrapped his left arm around Alison, who quickly pulled open a drawer to her right. She pulled out a pair of scissors from the drawer and stabbed Zep in his left leg. Zep howled in pain and fell to the floor, clutching his leg as blood was spewing out of it. At this moment, Tapp entered the house and hurried up the stairs. He saw Zep on the floor squirming around on the floor and aimed at him.
