She didn't fight criminals
She didn't fight those who stole
Now one person knew her name
No, she had a different role. She fought society, she fought rumors
She put on her mask everyday
And she fought for all her life
And she laced her own wayTHE HIDDEN MASK
When we were kids
We smiled and laughed
More than we cried
We lived and loved on the outside
More than we resided in our minds
We shared, we cared
And at that point, life was fair
Till we were handed this mask...
At that point of time you might have just thrown it
It probably collected dust in the corner of your room
Until you found the need to use it
To hide the tears you cry every day
To show people that you smile anyway
Even though it's fake...
To be what society expects you to be
Even though your soul is meant to be free
You caged it up and threw the key
And when you desperately search...
You don't find it.
And it's not like anyone's going to help you
So when you're given this mask,
Throw it, instead of the key
Let your soul roam free
Take your mask and let it shatter
That's the last thing that should matter
Show society your real face
Inspire those of the human race
If you don't take the chance now
You are a lost cause
Because the world will never pause
You will never be a disgrace
So hide this mask, not your face.
