She measured her worth by a teaspoon

And piled greens on top of each other

She went mad over a flick of a needle

And she made her elves swallow the burden for her

She asked the mirror for an answer

To see if she was the fairest

The swans are what the hunters are after

The ugly ducklings they wouldn't notice

Mattresses layered upon mattresses

But still she remained restless

A single pea could overwhelm her

For that was what made her a 'princess'

She heaved and she blew

And she huffed and puffed too

But the walls made out of bricks

Wouldn't fall for those tricks

And the prince, safe inside

Watched her smiling wide

And he threw out his sticks and stones

'Til the girl became a pile of bones

Living inside the tower

Isn't what it's claimed to be

Some girls would grow their dreams out long

To break out of there, finally

The clock struck at midnight

The magic soon fades away

The prince never came to remember

The girl who appeared that day

Knights don't slay my dragons

I'm never the damsel in distress

Heroes would rather save themselves

Than help me out of this mess
