Trigger Warning: mentions of rape, physical bullying
Dan awoke Monday morning, remembering that he had to go to school and face his friends. Also there was a good chance he'll have to face Jeremy too. At least Jayden would be there with him throughout the whole day. Since Dan and Jayden werea both seniors, the school just put them in all of the same classes so they could get settled in more. There was a knock at Dan's door that made him jump.
"Yeah?" Dan asked, sitting up to check his phone. He talked with Phil and Carrie a little bit last night, but Louise wouldn't talk to him still. The door opened to reveal Jayden.
"Erm, Dan I can't stop shaking. I don't know what to do," they said, staying outside of his room.
"Nervous, yeah? Come here," Dan replied, putting his phone down on the nightstand next to him and patting the spot next to him for them to sit.
"Yeah, I just don't want to embarrass myself," Jayden said once they had sat down.
"If it makes you feel any better I'm always scared of going to school, even when I wake up in a good mood. But hey, if I can go back then I'm pretty sure you'll be able to go also," Dan said, rubbing small circles on Jayden's back, "Also I'm going to call you Jay from now on."
"Yeah I guess you're right. I'm going to call you Howell from now on," Jay laughed, standing up to leave, "You should probably get dressed because we need to leave in a few minutes."
"Okay I'll be down in a second," He replied, standing up and walking to his wardrobe to find an outfit. Dan looked through the pastel colors and sighed in frustration. In the end he decided to wear a black turtle neck to hide the hickeys that were still extremely dark and dark gray skinny jeans that had holes in the knees. He went with his all black converse and black earrings. Dan had an array of different colored backpacks. He still went with the black one. Quickly, he put his school stuff into the black one and ran down the stairs. Jayden and mum were in the kitchen having a casual conversation about their first day of school. As soon as mum saw Dan, she handed him a plate of pancakes.
"No thanks mum," Dan mumbled, placing the stack of plates on the counter.
"Daniel you need to eat something," Mum demanded, picking up the plate and giving it back to Dan. This made Dan angry for some strange reason so he walked over to the bin and dumped the plate.
"Daniel James Howell! You cannot disrespect me this way!" Mum yelled before walking out of the room.
"Can we erm go now?" Jay asked, awkwardly sliding past Dan and walked to the front door. He did the same and they walked to school.
----------
"So where are your friends Howell?" Jay questioned as they walked to his locker.
"Probably gossiping about me right now," Dan mumbled, pulling out the books he needed for his next few classes.
"Why would they being doing that if they know what happ-"
"They don't know," Dan cut off Jay, closing his locker and started to walk to their first class.
"What? Why didn't you tell them?" Jay asked, now very urgent for answers.
"I didn't want to."
"Howell you should really tell them."
"No."
"Why did you tell me?"
"I don't know."
"It seems to me like it was a cry for help."
"It wasn't. I'm fine."
"Howell you can't be serious. You were raped for crying out loud," Jay whispered this so no one else would here. Bless them.
"They won't care."
"That's not true. Why wouldn't they care?"
"B-Because I ignored th-them."
"What?"
"I w-was p-p-prom shopping with them and then i-it happened and then I left as they c-called out f-for me."
"It sounds like they care Howell."
"Then why did L-Louise get m-mad at me."
"I don't know Howell. I wasn't there. Only you and her were."
"F-fuck," Dan muttered, keeping his head low as soon as he saw someone familiar.
"What's wrong Howell?"
"Jay shut up and k-keep walking."
"Why?"
"It's Jeremy," Dan replied, starting to speed up.
"Oh."
They both walked in silence and right when they were about to pass Jeremy, he stopped them. His foot went out and tripped Dan. He fell onto the cold floor, hitting his head when he came in contact.
"Sup faggot," Jeremy said, smirking at what he did.
"Go fuck yourself. Come on Howell, let's go," Jay said, pulling Dan up and dragging him away by the arm.
"You didn't have to d-do that."
"Where are your friends?"
"P-Probably in the cafeteria. W-we normally go there b-before class starts."
"Okay, please go change though," Jay handed him a bag of clothes. He took them. His favorite pastel pink sweater was among the other clothes.
"I can only put on the sweater because of the hic... marks on my body," Dan whispered, "Can I do it later though?"
"Whatever makes you comfortable Howell," Jay said. They walked into the cafeteria and the tension in the air was insane. Surprisingly, it was only Dan's friends and himself and Jay in the cafeteria.
"Danny!" Phil hollered, getting up to hug him.
"H-hi Phil," Dan greeted as he hugged Phil back. Their hug lasted a few seconds too long to be a friendly hug. Eventually, Dan pulled away and looked up at everyone else. His eyes went straight to Louise. She wasn't even looking up from her maths homework and she hates maths.
"Lou-Louise?" Dan mumbled, walking closer to the table she was sat at. Louise looked up and could see the tears forming in Dan's eyes.
"Oh come here you dork," Louise exclaimed before Dan engulfed her in an enormous hug.
"I'm so sorry. I'll tell you everything j-just not r-right now," Dan whispered in her ear. They pulled away and Dan took the time to introduce Jay to the group considering they would now be hanging out with him and his friends.
Dan was starting to feel normal again. If you call just being depressed and anxious all the time normal.

FanfictionI'm not going to lie, this is kinda cheesy and like almost every other fic because it's pastel Dan, but I'm having Nerd Phil so we'll see how this turns out. I'm not good at writing descriptions, but I'm very happy with the plot of this story.
