I was about ten when it started, my jaw hurt and I would hiss like a cat. I would claw stuff and I could leap high and jump fast. Doctors couldn't find anything wrong and anyone else just thought my parents were insane.

Though it was two years later when it became worse. I was heading to bed at about nine from being so tired and sick. I had just slipped into my PJs when it started.

My teeth grew into sharp, pointy, animal-like teeth. My nails became sharp and my bones cracked and ached.

I screamed and my parents came running in, only to find me only not me. I was a cheetah. Large and skinny with an unusual pattern.

My mother let out a gasp and my father backed up. "Ar-Arie," she stuttered?

Oh ya, that's me. My name is Arie. My mother is Shari and my father is Rob. Together we make up at Rain family

I sat there my, fur. Bristling in fear.

What's happening!

I looked at my mom and dad again. My mom was having a breakdown and my dad was staring at me.

Finally, I moved closer only to have my mom grip me in a tight hug. "Arie," she cried into my pelt!

Man did she cry on me.

My fur got wet with her tears. My dad bent down and pet me then realized he was petting his daughter. He hugged me so hard a little puff came from my mouth.

After that day every everythng changed. I had to keep the biggest secret ever! I worried every day too, what if someone saw me and Cherry out for a walk. I was way too big to pass as a pet.

Oh, Cherry. She is my inner Cheetah. She speaks to me and I speak to her. We're a separate, entity. Sadly she needs to get out a lot which means walks.

When I was about eighteen we were walking and an old man and his dog saw us. We ran before he could think much, but my parents soon found he was a cop. That cop had me all over the news.

That made my family nervous. They started looking and soon had a house lined up. Within a week we were packed and ready.

By the looks, it was in a small town with about two hundred people. Small for a town, I guess.

The house was large though, it had a very large in-closed backyard. Which was good, I guess. The living room could hold all of our furniture and it had one extra bathroom and bedroom.

Cherry even approved. She really didn't like anything that didn't have to do with forest life.

I looked out the window. I sighed a little as we left the town. "Sorry," I said for the hundredth time that day. I felt bad leaving the city where my mother and father both grew up.

My dad looked back in the mirror. "Don't be dear, it's not your fault. We know he was on your trail," he said then looked back.

My mom agreed and looked out the window. "Six hours left," she said in a low voice.

I relaxed and zoned out to my little mind part where I could talk to Cherry.

"Hi Cherry," I said.

"Hello Arie, are you ready for the new life," she asked?

I laughed in my mind and I nodded. "Ya, I'm ready. It'll suck, but I'm ready," I responded.

Both of us chatted for a long time before I fell asleep.

When I woke up I was in a new area. Out of the city and into the forest. Ivy on trees and willows everywhere.
