I slowly open my eyes. How long had I been asleep?

The sun was setting in the tree lines and a cool breeze was being pushed in. A bad feeling was rising in my chest. Cherry was hissing like crazy! What was happening?

"Arie, sweetheart! Wake up, we have company," she hissed at me!

I fully woke up and realized there was something next to me. It's fur touching my body, it's tail hanging over my shoulder, the rising, and falling of it's breath.  It wasn't Farris, but a black wolf.

Like the one she had seen when she first arrived in the town. Then something else caught her eye.

More eyes were looking back at me from the woods. they were looking right at me. I sprung up as fast as possible and looked around. The black wolf not waking up at my sudden rise.

I looked around flicking my tail like when the boys surrounded me. Though with the knowledge that these werewolves, not humans. I made a loud hissing noise and some of them backed up, and some got closer. This was a battle waiting to happen.

"Run Arie," Cherry cried!

I did as told. I bolted through the forest top speed toward the house. My paws barely touching the ground as I ran. I made sure to not slow, trip, or hit a tree. The sound of paws thumping behind me as fast as they could. Hopefully, my speed was faster than theirs.

As I neared my house and the paw steps got quieter, soon I could no longer hear them anymore.

Though my heart pounded as loud as possible in my opinion. As soon as I reached the back fence I leaped, turning human in the prosses. I landed on my knees and suddenly could hear the sound of the wolves behind her. I stumbled getting up to my feet. Not looking back I quickly ran inside, locking the back door.

Wanting to fall over I stumbled a little.

"Mom. Dad," she called but got no response.

They're still at work. That was good.

I quickly moved away from the door and headed to the front door making sure it was locked. I set my bag down and headed to the kitchen. Grabbing some water then going to my room with my phone.

I walk up the stairs listening for any noises. I get to my room and shut the door then turned on my phone. I knew I would have some missed calls. Nine missed calls. Mostly from mom, but some were from dad as well. Just like I expected.

Quickly I selected the top number and rang them. It was my mom's number. After four or five rings my mom picked up.

"Aire! Finally, we've been trying and trying to call you for hours. Are you ok," she said then pampered me with questions. Her words slowly began to squish together and got jumbled.

After a long time of her throwing out questions, I butted in on her and started talking. "Mom, I was just chased by some wolves through the woods. I made it out and I'm back at the house," I responded to her. I didn't know if I should add what had happened before.

"What," she yelled into the phone! Followed by her worried breathing.

"Yeah, but I'm ok. I'm sorry for not coming home sooner," I told her my ears ringing a little for how loud she yelled.

There was a long pause before my mom finally responded. "Ok, though be careful. Oh, and I'm going to be late. Same goes for your father. Can you make dinner," she asked me calming down?

I knew she was trying to change the subject so I agreed and hung up then flipped my phone onto my bed. It landed face side down and I thought it may have broken as it hit the wall.

Just as I had turned away from the phone there was a knock at the door. I rushed down the stairs and quietly looked out the peephole. Not thinking a wolf would knock.

Farris stood outside, along with Gin. I flipped the lock and opened the door pulling them in as fast as my strength could.

Though it didn't take much seeing as how Farris started grabbing my shoulders with a worried expression.

Gin shut the door behind us and then turned back to me and Farris.

"Arie! Are you ok? Paris- a-a cheetah was running this way, and she leaped into your backyard, did they hu-hurt you? oh an- and," he started to get really flustered and scared.

I didn't know how to calm him down, I had never seen this side of him. He was so scared for me and almost in teary mode.

"Woah, slow down what happened," I asked not answering him till he answered my question.

Gin grabbed his shoulder. "Farris, calm down. You can clearly see she is fine. Now let's explain, everything to her. In a calm fashion," he said trying to calm his friend down.

Farris backed down from his panicked state and moved back. "Ok, ok. So there was this cheetah who was chilling with me. We fell asleep together and when I woke up she was running toward your house," he said a little faster than his normal speech.

Gin nodded behind him. he leaned against the wall and looked at me than him.

I didn't know how to respond. I wanted to ask where his mark went, how he disappeared, and how he didn't see the wolves. After a moment I started.

"I've been home for hours. I didn't see or hear anything around. I don't think the cheetah came here," I said. I knew I should have been intrigued about the cheetah, but it was too late to get freaked out.

I looked at Gin who suddenly looked pale. "Hey, are you ok," I asked sliding past Farris? I held him up as he slid down a little. "Farris get some him water!"

Farris looked at Gin and I saw both of them exchange a look slash nod. He ran off and got a bottle of water. He quickly returned and handed it to Gin.

Gin chugged down the water, some dripping down his cheek. When he was down he dropped the bottle and alarms rose in my chest.

"Gin! I'll call an ambulance," I said getting up. Where was my phone? I must have left it upstairs. I ran up the stairs and went to my room.

I grabbed it and flew down the stairs. I watched as Gin and Farris left suddenly. "Hey," I called to them, but they didn't look back.

What had just happened?
