Chapter 20

"Argh!" I moaned into my pillow. I woke up five minutes ago and I feel like I've been hit by a truck, fallen off a cliff, rammed into by a sumo wrestler, and I feel as if I ate way too much food.

"I'm sorry Estella." Cooper says for the millionth time, and it's only been five minutes. Although he's been really annoying I want him near at all times.

I didn't look up but my hands felt their way up to find Cooper. Once that goal was accomplished, my hand hit Cooper. "Shut your trap,"

"Shut my trap, what?"

What is he trying to do?

"Shut your trap, Cooper?"

He sighed, "No, I wanted you to say please."

"I do whatever I please."

"No what I meant Estella."

Pain bolted through my body and I screamed.

"Holy!"

I gripped the bed sheets and twisted my body, wrong move.

This only caused more pain, I curled into a ball and fell on the floor.

"Estella, hold on a minute! I'll be right back!" Cooper's voice echoed.

"Where in God's name are you going? I'm in pain you little heifer!"

I felt liquid on my head, my eyes widened in horror. Is this blood?

My shaky hands shot up to my head and felt around, my heart rate steadied just a little when it was just sweat.

My body curved when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. What the bloody hell is this?

Another sharp jab inside of my stomach and I shrieked.

This pain is like no other.

Cooper came back running into the room with who I think is the pack doctor.

"Cooper, she's just shifting. It's common, well, she's a late shifter. Some late shifters only shift when marked by their mate..." He trailed off, and his eyes found their way to my collarbones.

Cooper's mark did this? Oh he is so dead when I get out of this nonsense.

"I see you're finally shifting, the pain may seem unbearable but just another ten minutes or so, you'll be fine." The voice assured me.

"You're apart of this?!"

"I am indeed, I'm your wolf. My name is Lacynn."

"Is this what you mean about it getting better by him marking me?"

"Precisely."

This is not better. This is like living in hell.

My eyes turned red, and sweat covered my body. I screamed in agony at another sharp jab in my body.

I looked down at my hands, but instead I found claws.. This is disgusting.

I heard loud pops of bones being broken. I flinched at the sound. I covered my ears trying to block out the noise.

I hate the sound of bones popping in any form or fashion. It's disgusting.

I let out one more loud scream before I was almost immediately on all fours.

Where's Cooper?

He left after hearing your howls of pain. His wolf or him cannot stand hearing or seeing your pain. Oh and hello, I'm the bitch you don't like.

Oh, you, what did I do to earn this pleasure?

Oh shut up, I'm already tired of your thoughts. Go find Cooper. He's raging as we... think? Yes, because no one else can hear me except for you.

Blah, blah. Where is he?

In the woods outback! Now let's go!

I cut her off, already growing weary of her nonsense.

I ran down the steps and out the front door.

Shift.

How?

Think of your wolf.

I've never seen my wolf..

I imagined a random wolf and my clothes ripped, its sound ringing in my ears.

I looked down at my paws. Weird, it's red. Like a fireball. In Cooper's library Luna's are normally white.

Whatever.

"Cooper? Where are you?"

All in one swift movement, a humongous black wolf leaped out the forest green woods.

Well alrighty then..

The wolf ran full force at me, and I cowered down in fear.

It's going to kill me.

When I didn't feel the impact, I peered up.

I met ocean blue eyes, and I melted.

Cooper.

His nose nudged me on the ground, and he stepped over me.

It looked like a protective stance, and that's when the smell hit me.

Oh my God, what is that disgusting smell?

"Run, go inside and alert the pack house. Now Estella."  Cooper's voice growled in my mind.

I scrambled getting up, and I ran towards the house.

But one thing never left my mind, what was that smell?

At first I thought y'all had given up on the story because there wasn't any feedback, so I thought 'Why continue the story if no one is reading?' And then I got the update and my phone won't stop buzzing!
