The other amateur swordsmen were no match for Damon.
He eased his way through six more duels, his longest duel lasting fifteen seconds, only because his opponent chose to run around the battlefield instead of fight.
His seventh match was what decided if he would advance into the next league. His opposition was a large man who was one of the better swordsman he had seen in the Amateur League.
He was still horrible.
Damon attacked. His opponent parried the blow, but wasn’t quick enough for when Damon slipped underneath the swords, and behind him. Damon kicked him in the back of the knee, and his opponent fell forward.
He placed the tip of his sword to his opponent’s neck.
The battle was over, and Damon was on to the Intermediate League.
