Chapter 6

(Emma's P.O.V)

I was jumped awake by the sound of a car horn, and hit my head on the roof of my Landcruiser. I rubbed the top of my head with my hand, groaning as the throbbing pain started to increase. I glanced around for the source of the horrid sound, and found Scarlett at the wheel, with her head pressed against the steering wheel. I laughed at how she was sleeping and looked into the backseat of the ute, and saw Harper and Isabella hugging each other, while lying on top off each, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in.

I sighed as the memories of last night flooded back to me. I remember that after Isabella said we had powers, we knew that it wouldn't be long before the motel owners started to investigate the strange noises coming from our room. So, after we had thrown all of our stuff into the back of the Landcruiser, we hit the road, heading straight for Sydney. However, that's a very long drive from small town Glassacre, Queensland. So, five hours into our journey we pulled over on the side of the road, and slept in the car for the night.

As I was sitting in the ute now, I couldn't help but let my mind wonder off to Luke. The last time I saw him was over a year ago now. I didn't even know if he was still... alive. All I was going off was a strong gut feeling that he is still alive, and I'm gonna find him. Not gonna lie, I have a massive crush on him, always have. When the boys snuck into our den years ago, when Luke was all shy and nervous, I liked him then. Ever since then, I've had to keep my feelings on a down low, constantly reminding myself that he saw me as nothing more than a little sister to him. I hurt. Knowing he was never gonna like me back. But, I learnt to accept it, and now I have to find him before its too late.

I was thrown from my thoughts, as I heard shuffling in the back of the ute. I turned and gasped at the sight. There, in the tray of my ute, was a vampire. It was rummaging through all of our bags, looking for something to steal. My blood started to boil as I watched it pick up my phone. I could feel my veins run stone cold, and my eye sight started to become much clearer as my heart thumped loudly in my ears. All I wanted to do was beat him to a pulp, but before I could, he froze. Not out of fright or fear, but he actually froze, ice and all!

I stared in shock. I had frozen the dude without even moving, my thoughts could freeze people, or in this case vampires. All the noise from my discovery woke up the girls, and they blindly fumbled around, looking for the source of all the commotion. When they finally found the vampire, frozen from head to toe, they stared in bewilderment. Then they spun their heads around and gaped at me in shock.

"He was going through our stuff, and he tried taking my phone..." I defended myself, whispering thee last part, as I looked down, slightly scared of their reaction.

I was shocked when I heard them all cracking up, rolling around in their seats with tears welling up in their eyes. I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest. They just started cracking up harder, and I tried my very best to hide the smile that was forming on my face.

Eventually I just gave up and started giggling along too.

"You are something special Emma Miller" Harper stated, once our laughter had died down to giggles.

I sighed and shook my head. "Anyways... Lets hit the road, still got ten hours until we reach Sydney. I searched up where we are while youse were asleep, and apparently, we're just past the boarder of Queensland." I said, already jumping out of the car, and chucking the vampire out into the sun to thaw out.

Once I jumped back into the ute's front seat, I buckled my seat belt up and grabbed my phone. I scrolled through my playlist until I came across the song I wanted. I smiled when 'teenagers' By My chemical romance started blaring through the speakers, as I turned back onto the highway, and sped off down the road towards Sydney.
