REQUESTED. @KTKat4 Pregnancy reveal to Spencer through a game, however the reader is nervous because they aren't married yet.
Short one shot. Fluff.
You nervously wrung your hands together, as your fingers danced over one another, your index finger of your right hand lightly rotated the engagement ring that was situated on your left fourth finger.
"Is everything okay?" You heard the soft voice of Spencer speak up, which made you drift away from your thoughts and slowly look to him.
"Yeah," you lied, nodding your head for the double emphasis before raking your fingers through your hair, pulling it to the side of your neck.
You looked around the team, who already knew, and had planned your reveal for you as you've been a mess recently. You were all currently sat on the huge, fluffy couch in Rossi's house were many Friday evenings were spent, with a glass table between all of you with a game of scrabble in the middle.
Some people would probably say it was sad for a bunch of adults sitting around on a Friday evening, playing games such as scrabble, cards and chess, but everyone was content anyways.
Tugging the sleeves of the sweater you had stolen from Spencer over your hands, you cuddled into his side and gently buried your face into the crook of his neck, his brunette locks lightly tickling your forehead as you do. You felt his lips press against the top of your head a few times, resulting in the team grinning at one another like idiots.
Spencer raised a brow at them expectantly, but non of them mention it nor react to his expression, instead they began playing the game where you happened to lose yourself thoughts again.
Would he be happy? You knew he wanted to be a dad, but you had always imagined you would get married first. It was so unexpected. What if he wants to get married first, too? What if he freaks out like you did when you found out, while you were with Penelope?
You were pulled from your thoughts as everyone hovered around the game, pushing in letters at random which made Spencer grumble gently in annoyance, as it's one of his favourite games and non of them were doing it right. You lifted your head, looking up at him through long lashes as your eyes roamed his. You pursed your lips a little, biting your inner cheek as an anxious habit.
"Are you going to tell me what's-" he began, his hand resting on your back. However, before he could even finish his sentence, Derek called out for him.
"Pretty boy, can you come and see if they're playing this right? Some of the letters aren't matching up." He lied, confidently at that.
Spencer pushed his hair back from his face and leant over towards the table, so you shuffled back and cuddled into the back of the couch, while your heart hammered heavily against your chest. Your breathing then quickly became ragged.
"Y/N is...those letters don't match-Y/N is pregnant?" He asked, before he falls dead silent in realisation and the rest of the team do, too.
Slowly tilting his head to face you, you flashed him a small, nervous smile, brushing some hair behind your ear and biting down on your lower lip.
"We're having a baby?" He asked you, his was voice meek and shocked as you nodded your head slowly in reply, gliding your fingertips over the small bump on your stomach, hidden by your sweater.
You then witnessed the widest grin spread across his face, overtaking his features and exposing his perfect teeth. Your heart skipped a beat at the sight, your body tingling with warmth.
Rushing over, he pulled you up into his arms and nuzzled his face into the exposed skin on your neck, your arms tightly enclosed around him to hold the both of you steady.
Everyone cheered loudly, your hand moved upwards to gently rub over his back as you giggled softly, and suddenly all of your worries faded away.
He raised his head, gazing at you before dropping his forehead down to yours, his hand grazing over your stomach underneath the attire you were wearing.
"We're having a baby, Spencer." You whispered ever so quietly, a small smile playing across your lips.
A joy filled laugh escaped his lips again, murmuring 'I'm gonna be a dad,' before his lips connected with yours.
You kisses him back, your fingertips entangling with his hair as you fondly tugged him close to your body. Though, like idiots the both of you ended up grinning against one another's lips before pulling back.
"And an amazing one, too," you assured him with a happy sigh, and by the look on his handsome face, you could tell he had lost himself in thoughts of what was to come. He looked at his most content right now.
"I'm going to marry you. I am. And we're going to have a beautiful family, I'm going to make sure both of you feel loved every day." He promised.
You blinked a few times, laughing quietly and wiping under your eyes at how sweet his vow was.
All of your initial worries about the panic of not being married yet, completely dissolved as you realised the beautiful man stood in front of you, and the baby you were going to have again was the true importance.
"You already do," you responded while you nudged your nose across his. He held your body against his and nodded his head, struggling to refrain his cartoon-sized grin.
You twisted the engagement ring on your finger and felt your heart rate lower to it's normal speed.
As you allowed him time to think to himself, you ran your fingers across his sweater and down his arms, appreciating how lucky you truly were, aware he would be the sweetest dad.
The rest of the team stayed silent, appreciating the moment and watching the both of you for a little while.
Spencer's fingers moved hair back from your face and then grazed across your rosy cheeks, and you savoured every single second.
"A baby." He repeated again, still sounding shocked while you smirked playfully, looking at him.
"Yes, a baby," you said slowly and teasingly, giggling while looking to the team as they laugh the same, watching Spencer's reactions of pure shock and awe.
His arms snaked around your waist again and lifted you up from your feet, despite him never being so strong.
You contentedly wrapped your legs around his torso, draping your arms loosely around his neck before the both of you lost yourselves in an array of kisses, just before you heard Derek's voice break the comfortable silence.
"My pretty boy did it!" He called and you pulled back from Spencer, your arms protectively around his neck.
"My pretty boy." You snapped back to him, making everyone laugh, and you felt Spencer's shoulders shake lightly as he does the same, chuckling.
You grinned and buried your face into the crook of his neck repetitively, leaving light kisses there and more-so closing your eyes, cuddling into him as the rest of the team took that as a sign to leave the room for a few minutes.
They closed the door behind them, as you and Spencer practically melt into one within the tight embrace.
Spencer was, without a doubt, going to fulfil the role of father and husband to its greatest potential and do a hell of a good job of it, you were sure.
Sure, he might read Hemingway to your child until they're begging him to read a story about dragons and fairytales instead, but the thought only made you smile even more.
Why the hell were you so worried?
