Harry's POV
I. Kissed. Niall.
I kissed Niall and I loved it.
I think I might love Niall.
But do I regret it? Absolutely not.
Does this confuse me? Yes.
I should not feel this way about a hybrid. Do I care? Not anymore.
But, I don't know if he feels the same about me.
"Are you gay Harry?" Niall asked me, his eyes still cat-like.
I felt myself blushing as I purposely avoided his gaze.
"I honestly have never thought about it before," I say, "But, judging by the way I feel right now I would say yes."
He didn't say anything, which worried me. Maybe he was straight and hated the kiss? Maybe he's going to avoid me now?
I fought off tears at the thought of him now leaving me. I cry too much in front of him.
"I think I must be too," Niall said softly.
I looked up at him, my eyes finding his.
The corners of his mouth turn up in a smile. I felt my own smile grow.
I wanted to crawl closer to him, but I'm not sure if I should.
"Do you have feeling for me?" Niall asked.
"Do you have feelings for me?" I countered.
"I do," He nodded.
"Good, because I have feeling for you too," My heart fluttered as I said that.
"Aren't you going to ask me to be your boyfriend?" I asked.
His smile disappeared.
My heart dropped.
"I've only known you for two days," Niall frowned, "I don't know if we're ready for a relationship yet."
"Oh," I looked away to avoid crying again.
"Hey, don't get upset," he rubbed my arm, "That doesn't mean I will never want to be in a relationship. I want to know you better first."
I looked up and saw a soft smile on his face.
The thought of crying left my mind.
"Alright," I sighed, "What do you want to know?"
Zayn's POV
The rest of my night was uneventful.
I sat alone in the living room staring at a wall until I decided to go to sleep. I had given up on waiting for Niall to come back after awhile.
I woke up before everyone else had so I once again had nothing to do.
I continued my staring contest with the wall from last night until I felt an ache at the bottom of my spine.
I forgot to let my tail out of my pants last night.
I double checked if anyone else was around before releasing my fox tail. I let my ears be free as well.
As good as it felt to not have everything hidden, I have to be on alert, listening if anyone was waking up. I will have to hide everything again when they wake up.
Rather than stare at the wall this time, I played with my tail.
As I twirled it around my fingers I thought. Why was I a hybrid? Why was I chosen to be this way?
I was human when I was around three.
Then a group of scientists decided to experiment on my family and others. None of us who are eighteen and over now were born hybrid. That only makes everything even more unfair.
The really annoying part is, we all forgot many of the human things in life. Like food. I can't remember much about human food. Not fair.
I shuddered as I thought of my time in a scientist's lab.
I shook my head. No more thinking about that for today. The memories were short but painful.
I heard a door open so I quickly shoved my tail away and tucked my ears under my hair.
Liam walked out of the hallway.
His eyes found mine already on him and he froze.
"What are you doing?" He asked. He almost sounded like he was accusing me of something.
"Sitting," Was my short answer.
He looked at me for a moment, unsure, before walking away.
"Good morning to you too," I called after him.
He ignored me. I wasn't going to let him get away with that though.
I got up, excited I had something else to do. I walked in on Liam as he was seated at a table eating.
"Hi," I said as I got into a chair next to him.
He glared at me. I just grinned back.
He continued eating and I got curious.
"What is that?" I asked, pointing to his food.
"Cereal," He looked at me like I was crazy.
"Can I try it?" I asked him.
"Uh, I guess?" He gave me a look before getting up.
I watched him get the cereal. He looked at me weird as I continued staring.
When he finished he handed the bowl with 'cereal' in it to me.
Lucky for me, I still remember how to use a spoon.
I tried the cereal. It tasted familiar. I probably had it before the whole hybrid thing happened.
"Haven't you had cereal before?" Liam asked. I didn't realize he had been studying me.
I shrugged. I didn't really know.
"I don't understand you," he muttered, "Or Niall."
We sat in an uncomfortable silence until Liam got up, taking both our bowls with him.
Outside the dome
Unknown POV
The hybrid kingdom was in a panic.
Someone important had gone missing.
Nobody was going to rest until he was found.
