AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Thank you all so much for being patient and waiting for this chapter and not giving up on me. I'm going through a rough time at school, and I haven't really been able to sit down and write. I am sorry for leaving you in the dark for so long. And thanks to all those who took the time to check up on me (you know yourself). It really meant a lot to me.
I hope you enjoy this chapter; I made it especially long because I doubt I'd be able to to write some more anytime soon.
Thanks again!

Akeela tried to dodge the attack but she was too pre-occupied with thinking about an answer. She ducked too late and Kayla kicked her in her jaw. Akeela stumbled backwards before she fell, slightly annoyed but feeling no pain whatsoever in her jaw. She felt something wet drip down her lips so she wiped it off with the palm of her hand.

‘Blood?’, she thought, incredulous when she saw the red stain on her palm.

She kicked me hard enough to make me bleed and still, I felt nothing.

Akeela looked up in time to see Kayla’s next kick and put up her hands in an attempt to block it.

“Urgh,” she grunted, as the force of the kick sent her rolling sideways.

“Answer me Akeela,” Kayla taunted. “You’re making this way too easy.”

“Ay-aydindril,” Akeela panted, getting to her feet. “Aydindril is the capital of the Midlands.”

“And?”

In a flash, Kayla was before Akeela, resuming her relentless assault.

“And,” Akeela responded, trying to focus on blocking Kayla’s blows while she racked her brains for an answer.

“It’s the home of the Confessor’s and their Wizards.”

“Good,” Kayla said, casually brushing away Akeela’s feeble attempt at an attack. “But you’re still leagues too slow.”

She kicked Akeela in her chest sending her flying backward into a wall, her head smacking it on impact. Dizzy as she felt, Akeela still got to her feet and assumed her defensive stance.

“And which army defended Aydindril?”

Akeela saw a flash of red and braced for the attack she knew was incoming.

“Dragoncorps?” she grunted as she side-stepped and deflected Kayla’s kick.

“Wrong. Dragoncorps are D’Haran troops. They serve the Lord Rahl,” Kayla said, punctuating every word with attacks so fast Akeela could not keep up.
“Their purpose is to hunt Confessors, Akeela, not protect them.”
