"Flight thirty-seven leaving for London," a flight attendant said over the intercom and Draco glared at the ground.
"Samantha!" Hermione yelled and I jumped up.
"Hermione! It's great to see you!" I said hugging her. I let go and looked at my family; mother mouthed "hi" to Hermione, father was ticked off and both he and Draco were glaring at the floor.
"Uh, let's go get coffee or something." I said pulling Hermione away from my family. "I'm sorry about them, well except mum, mum smiled at you." I said once we were at the airport cafe.
"Don't worry about it, they're biased it's okay. Besides, look at you! You look amazing," Hermione gushed and I smiled.
"You look great too, you definitely look more grown up. And people are definitely noticing," I said nodding towards the extremely cute boy staring at Hermione.
"Oh shush, he isn't looking at me, he's obviously looking at you." she said and I giggled.
"I highly doubt that," I said as we ordered our coffees.
"Are you joking? You've gotten taller, your skin's lightened a bit and your hair too, not to mention you're starting to fill out." Hermione said as we got our coffees and sat at a nearby table.
"So, how's your summer been so far? Hear from Harry yet?" I asked and she nodded.
"Only a letter or two, his aunt and uncle are nuts as you may have heard." she said and I nodded. "What about you? How has yours been, touring such an elegant city?" She asked and I bit the inside of my mouth. Should I tell her? No, don't you dare he'll find out. But I need someone to talk to. Suffer through it, you're a vampire for Merlin's sake!
"It's been great so far, there's this really good boutique that has AMAZING clothes. And the girl that works there can give you an outfit that will summarize your personality, it's fantastic." I said sipping my coffee.
"Really? Is that where you got that shirt? Which I have to say is really cute," Hermione said and I nodded.
"Yeah it is, it's about half a mile from the Eiffel Tower, you should go while you're here." I said and she nodded.
"So, have you talked to Fred lately?" she asked and I choked on my coffee a bit.
"What? Why? Have you?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Well no, but I have been talking to Ginny lately and she says Fred's been miserable without you." she said and I had to keep my hair from turning pink.
"Well I, uh..... Great coffee isn't it?" I asked changing the subject completely and drinking my coffee.
"Change the subject all you want but you miss him," Hermione said sipping her coffee with a smirk.
"I also miss Ginny, Harry, Ron, George, and Luna and you up until now." I said rolling my eyes. "Besides, you miss Ron." I said and her cheeks tinged pink.
"Of course, he is one of my best friends." she said sipping her coffee.
"Oh no, no, no, you miss him because you like him." I said and she choked.
"I- I do not! I just, he just- oh is it that obvious?" she asked and I giggled.
"Only to Ginny and I because we know you, Harry and Ron are too thick headed to notice." I said and she sighed.
"It's just, he's so infuriating but he really gets me." Hermione said with a whistful look on her face and I smiled.
"I know what you mean," I said and she smiled.
"Flight eighty-nine leaving for the Greek Islands, First Class now boarding." a flight attendant said over the intercom and I stood up.
"That's my flight, it was good seeing you 'Mione." I said giving her a hug and she hugged me back.
"It was good seeing you too Sammie, I guess I'll see you again later in the summer." Hermione said and I nodded.
"Definitely; bye 'Mione." I said throwing away my empty coffee cup and going to where mother was waiting for me.
"Have fun talking to your friend dear? She seems nice," mum said and I nodded.
"She is nice, I just wish Drake would look past her being a muggleborn." I sighed as we boarded the plane.
"Oh don't be ridiculous, he doesn't hate her because of her blood, she's as smart as him and if not smarter. That's why he hates her," mum said and I giggled.
"That would make sense, they are the two top students in their year." I said as we sat down in our seats, I got the window seat and mum was by the aisle.
"Who are the two top students in their year?" Drake asked tuning around.
"Oh no one dear, don't worry about it, it's just girl talk." mum said and I giggled.
"I definitely know better than to believe that but since you two seem happy, I'll let it go." Drake said rolling his eyes and turning back around.
"Oh, here dear chew on this." mum said handing me a piece of gum and I popped it in my mouth.
"Why do I have to chew gum?" I asked as I chewed.
"It keeps your ears from popping, air pressure you know." mum said and I nodded.
"So, are you excited for our mummy daughter bonding when we land?" she asked and I nodded.
"I really am, I haven't really gotten to hang out with you because of school and whatnot so this should be wicked." I said then blew a bubble and she popped it. "Hey! No bubble pops!" I said and she laughed and kissed my cheek.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please prepare for take off,"
