Jennica's POV

I woke up to the sound of the heavy rain. Opening my eyes slowly, I glanced at my digital alarm clock to see that is was 7:00 am, which meant that I had thirty minutes to get ready before I leave the house. I yawned loudly as I stretch my arms over my head. Great, it's Monday. I groaned as I sat up and rubbed my eyes. In my opinion, Monday is the worst day of the week and I'm pretty sure everyone hates Mondays as well. I having to wake up early in the morning to go school. Speaking of school, I also hate school even though I some of the highest grades my classes. I guess I'm just naturally born with intelligence.

I got out of bed and began to walk to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I brushed my teeth, took a nice, warm shower. Morning showers make me feel fresh  and motivated somehow. I walked out of the bathroom, holding the wrapped towel against my body. I looked into my closet for an outfit to wear. After minutes of throwing clothes out of the closet and making a mess, I picked out a simple white tank top, a tan knit cardigan, a pair of light wash skinny jeans and my black converse. I put everything on and looked at the full view mirror that was hanging on my closet door. I nodded in satisfaction but something was still missing. I looked around the room and spotted my white beanie on the bed. I quickly grabbed it and walked downstairs.

"Good morning sweetheart." My mom greeted me at the kitchen table. She had her hair wrapped with a white towel and she was still wearing her light pink robe.

"Good morning." I greeted back.

"Do you want to stay and eat breakfast? I've made some eggs and toast."

I walked over to counter and grabbed a few granola bars from a box and stuffed them in my school bag which was laying on the counter.

"I'm running a bit late. I'll just eat these granola bars on my way to school." I said, rushing over the door to get my car keys.

"That's fine honey. Have fun at school today."

"Sure, I'll have a blast." I answer back sarcastically.

I walked out the door, I heard her laugh. I love my mother. She's loving, understanding, caring, and so sweet. On the other hand, there's my father, not that he's also loving and caring. He expects way too much from me, he's overprotective, and our relationship is not that stable. I remember when I was about ten years old, he left the house and didn't come back for months. I was confused, and worried about him but my mom kept telling me that he's okay and he'll come back. After a few months he eventually did come back but it felt like things changed. He still lives with us, it's just that I barely see him anymore since he's always out and quite honestly, I miss him.

I drove to school alone while the rain was still pouring. I looked at the time and my eyes widen to see that is was already 7: 50 which meant that classes start in ten minutes. I pressed on the gas pedal a little harder to get there faster. I always lose track of time.

Once I got to the parking lot, the lots were almost full. This is why I hate getting to school later than usual because it's difficult to find a parking spot. I drove around for a little while and finally found a spot, near the back of the school. I rushed out of the car and exposed myself to the pouring rain.

"Shit." I said to myself as I slammed the car door, locking it behind me.

I ran towards the school. I tried to avoid as much puddles as possible. I heard something drop behind me. I turned around to see that I have left a trail of textbooks, and notebooks on the wet ground.  I groaned loudly, running back to retrieve my wet books. I was about to grab my last book, when someone bumped into me. I looked up to see an unfamiliar face. He had fine, brown hair,  that was messy, yet looked liked he put effort to it at the same time. His eyes are caramel brown and he was a bit tan. He looked down at me and at the book. Without another word, he walked away towards the school.

"Gee, thanks for helping and apologizing." I mumbled to myself as I grabbed the last book.

I sprinted towards the school, unfortunately soaking wet but five minutes to spare to fix myself up in the bathroom.

But who was that boy?

: : :

It was twenty minutes into class, and I was already bored out of my mind. We were reading Shakespeare in English. Suddenly, the door opened to reveal that same boy that I encountered with at the parking lot. The class stared at him including me. She handed the teacher a note for him to read.

"Ah, okay!" Mr.Martin, our English teacher said. He cleared his throat and faced the class.

"This is Cameron Dallas. He's new to our school and he's going to be in our class from now on. It would be very well appreciated if someone would show him around the school during lunch." He said. Cameron just stood there awkwardly as Mr.Martin scanned the room.

"Cameron, you can sit at back." He said, pointing towards the back of the room. He nodded and made his way over to the back. I was sitting at the back too but at the opposite side of the class.

Throughout the whole period, I was unfocused. I was trying to read along with the class but I just couldn't. I looked over at Cameron who was on his phone, not paying attention at all. Focus, Jennica, just focus on Shakespeare, not Cameron.
