Jennica's POV
"See you at lunch Jen." Alyssa waved at me as she walked off with Megan to their first period class.
"Have fun with Cameron." Megan added, winking at me.
I chuckled and rolled my eyes playfully.
"Oh I will." I laughed.
I walked into the classroom which was half filled. I sat in the normal seat and unpacked my books from my bag. I curiously looked up to see if he was here, but he wasn't. I sunk back in my seat and waited for class to start.
Everyone around me was chatting loudly, gossiping with friends, and laughing. I was the only one silent in the room. Let's just say that I'm not quite a popular person. I'm always the quite good girl who always manages to get straight A's without a problem. The girl who rarely goes to parties. The girl who no one talks about. I'm used it it and I don't mind it but it's nice to get out of my shell once in a while and experience something different.
Mr.Martin cleared his throat and the class gradually got quiet. He smiled brightly and nodded, indicating that he was about to start the lesson.
"Good morning. To start off the morning, I'll be checking the questions you answered for homework."
"We had homework?" Someone blurted out.
A couple of people snickered and laughed.
"Yes, you dumbass." Someone yelled from the back of the room.
"Tomy, language!" Mr.Martin said loudly as he him a stern look. He turned back to Will.
"I'm guessing you weren't listening in class yesterday, Will."
"English is boring, okay? Everything you say makes me want to sleep." He said back.
"Here we go again." Another person commented.
This is going to be a long class.
*20 minutes later*
The door creaked. My head shot up and so did everyone else's. There stood Cameron Dallas. He wore a white v-neck shirt, black jeans, and black vans. His hair was spiked up at the front, as usual. I watched him as he walked to his seat.
"Mr.Dallas, you're late." Mr.Martin said, crossing his arms and furrowing his eyebrows.
Cameron shrugged. "I know."
"Just letting you know, if you come in late again in my class, I'm going to give you detention."
"Cool." He answered without any emotion.
Mr.Martin nodded and got back to the lesson. "We'll be doing some partner work today. You will be discussing if Romeo and Juliet's death was caused by fate or the by choices they made. Then write a paragraph on why you think this. At the end of the class, you will have to hand this in."
Great. Partner work.
"You will have 40 minutes to do this so go choose a partner now."
Everyone scurried away from their desks to their partners. I awkwardly looked around to see if there was any person I could work with. I glanced at Cameron who was still in his seat. Should I go ask him? I stood up from my seat and grabbed my books. I walked in front of Cameron's desk. He looked up and smirked at me, as his eyes looked up and down.
"Want to be partners?" I asked, putting on a smile on my face.
"Sure." He nodded.
I sat on the chair next to him. This is going to be awkward.
"What's your name?" He asked, looking at me.
"Jennica." I said.
"Nice to meet you, Jennica." He smirked once again.
Did he forget about what happened yesterday at lunch? Or is he just pretending that he forgot?
"Cameron, right?" I asked him even thought I already knew his name. It's just to make things less awkward and keep the conversation going...hopefully.
"That's my name. You're going to be screaming it all night." He said.
My eyes widen at what he just said. He looked at me and chuckled lightly.
"I'm kidding. Can't take a joke?" He said, leaning back on his chair.
"Oh..." I replied, my voice trailing off.
"Oh? You thought I was serious? Well why didn't you say so? You could drop by at my house and we'll have a little fun." He winked.
I felt my cheeks burn. They must be bright as a rose right now. I looked down, letting my hair fall over my face a little, trying to cover up my pink cheeks.
"I'm kidding." He laughed.
I looked up. "Oh, I know." I lied.
He looked at me and smiled. Soon, that smile turned into a chuckle.
"What?" I asked him.
He stopped laughing and shook his head. "Nothing."
"No, tell me!" I asked impatiently.
"You're so innocent. It's funny." He answered.
"So being innocent is funny?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow.
"And kinda cute." He muttered.
"What did you just say?" I smiled.
"So, Romeo and Juliet, huh? I thought it was their choices that brought them to their death."
"Don't change the subject! Tell me what you just said."
He ran a hand through his luscious, brown hair. "I said that Romeo and Jul-"
"Before that!" I cut him off.
"You're so innocent. It's funny." He said.
"After that!"
"Romero and Juliet's death were caused by the choices they made."
"Ugh." I rolled my eyes, giving up to tell what he said.
"Well ugh to you too." He teased. He grabbed his pencil and started writing.
I decided to do the same since we wasted 15 minutes of class.
After all this time, I thought he was a jerk. The first time I met him, he bumped into me and left without saying a word. He walked away from me when I offered to sit with him and I saw him smoking weed in the forest.
He seemed to forget all of that.
He seems like a nice person.
Or am I wrong?
