Epilogue

The commander stayed at his spot, thinking through of what he has witnessed. His thoughts were interrupted by one of his soldiers, asking him if he was alright.

Soldier: Sir, are you alright?

Commander: Huh? Yes, I'm alright.

He started approaching Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles alone, Shadow immediately reacted and pulled Sonic into a protective hug. Knuckles quickly stood in front of them to protect them as well.

Commander: It's alright agent Shadow, I'm not attempting to harm your loved one.

Shadow: How can I be so sure that you're telling the truth?

Commander: My men are not following me, and I'm not carrying any weapons with me.

Shadow: ...Then what do you want to do?

Commander: I just want to apologise for what I had attempted to do moments ago, and I will keep a promise not let it happen again.

Shadow: ...Fine, I forgive you.

Commander: Thank you Shadow, I'll leave you to spend some time with your partner, I allow you to have a month off from work so you can spend the time with him too.

Shadow: Thank you sir.

Commander: No problem agent Shadow. Let's go men.

After GUN left, it was only Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles left. Shadow looked at Sonic in the eye, he missed his emerald eyes a lot and is happy that Sonic is back with him again. Sonic looked back at Shadow, he knew what Shadow's thinking and understands that he misses him. So he went to hug him. Shadow was surprised at first, but soon hugged back burying his face in Sonic's shoulder. Knuckles just smiled at the moment, and decided to leave them be by going back to guard the master emerald. After Sonic and Shadow are done hugging, they went back to the rest of the group to tell of Sonic's return. They were all in shock of happiness when they saw him again, an couldn't help but spend the entire day with him. Shadow was sad that he couldn't spend the day with Sonic alone, but he knew that the others needed their time with him as well so he doesn't mind.

The next day, Shadow has decided to spend the day with Sonic, so he told Sonic to meet him by Twinkle Park. Once Sonic got to Twinkle Park, he saw Shadow had set up a picnic on the grass. There were chilidogs and other kinds of foods on plates, Sonic smiled at Shadow as he sat next to him and he smiled back. He knew that Sonic would like to eat his favourite treat after being a werehog for some time.

Sonic: Wow Shadow, you always know what I want.

Shadow: *chuckles* Of course I do. For you. *puts a hand on Sonic's cheek*

Sonic: *smiles* Thanks.

They spent the rest of the day together and promised each other that they will never leave each other's side again.

Hey guys, sorry that I didn't update in a while, I was busy with school and I had to focus on it more then my books. Sorry if this part is short too, I couldn't think of any other ideas on how this story is going to end. And because of school, I don't think I'll be able to update for a long time too.
