“Dave it was nice meeting you, but I think that I should go talk to Tiberius and patch things up,” I said.
“Yeah same here and I do think that that’s a good idea, his cabin is the first one down the path over there, it’s about a 5 minute walk,” Dave said.
“Azura, come,” I said to her.
She instantly stopped playing with Kadir and ran over to my side. I followed the path that Dave told me to take, it was very secluded. It was a wide path, enough for a very large dragon to walk through, but it was surrounded by trees that stood about 30 feet. The woods were so thick that I could hardly see through it, even on a bright sunny day like today. The whole way down the path there were tikis lined up that look like they would be lit in the night so that you had some clue where you would be going. I arrived at a large wooden cabin that had an extremely large stable looking building. The doors were open and a huge golden dragon walked out. Azura hopped over to it and examined it with wide eyes.
“Aldric, you should do some target practice,” Tiberius said.
He nodded his head in understandment and stretched its huge wings out and swiftly took off with one quick motion.
“Alex would you and your dragon please come in,” he said.
We did what he asked and sat down on the couch. Tiberius sat in an arm chair across from my and just stared at me.
“Do I have something on my face?” I asked.
“There you go with that attitude again, now can you please tell me why a Firebolt would choose someone like you?” he asked.
“Someone like me? As in a girl,” I said.
“No I could care less that she chose a girl, it’s the fact that she chose someone so bitchy,” he said.
I rolled my eyes and said, “It’s probably because she knew that you would be intimidated me.”
Tiberius threw his head back and laughed.
He then stood over me and said, “Look here little girl, I am over 600 years old the last person I would be intimidated by would be you. But your dragon on the other hand is a totally different story.”
I stood up in his face and said, “We’ll see about that.”
“You are different I will give you that, but nothing special,” he said.
“Yet that is,” I said moving over to his fire place and looked at the pictures.
There were so many of him with other riders over the centuries, and then there was one of him and a very pretty girl. She had long curly brown hair and dark brown eyes.
I picked it up and said, “Girlfriend?”
“Wife,” he said quickly snatching it out of my hands and carefully laying it back down.
“Where is she?” I asked.
“She died,” he said quietly.
“I’m sorry,” I said. “She was very beautiful.”
“Yes she was,” he said.
“How did she die?” I asked.
“Let’s move away from this, how about your cottage. You’re going to need one with a big keep for your dragon. What is her name anyways?” he asked.
“Azura,” I said.
“That’s very nice I like that,” he said. “She will grow very big so I think that you should take the fifth cottage at the end of this trail.”
