Chapter 13

I woke up with the worst head ache. The lights were dim and there was was a beeping sound coming from some part of the room. The door opened and Lucas appeared with a woman dressed in a white dress and her hair was tied up in a neat bun. She held a clip board, a pen and a bag full of what seemed like blood.

"Morgan are you okay?", Lucas asked.

"Yeah I'm fine I just have a headache. Who is she?", I asked.

"Soy enfermera Melanie", she replied in a language I didn't understand.

"What did she just say?", I asked.

"Sorry she doesn't speak English but she's the best nurse we could get", he replied.

I simply nodded and the woman walked over to me. She hooked up the IV to my arm and started the infusion.

"Después de esto se debe sentir mejor".

"She said after this you should feel better. Gracias, puedes irte ahora".

She nodded and left us alone. Lucas sat next to me and held me in his arms and played with my hair.

"What happened?", I asked.

"I came to check on you after you fell asleep. You've been asleep for hours and I got worried. So I called in a nurse and she told me you needed more sleep than usual because you haven't fed in a little while. That's why your powers became weak. Remember when you tried lifting that tray full of snacks and it almost fell? That's because you were weaker than usual. Luckily I was there to catch it", he explained.

"I'm so sorry", I whispered.

He played with my hair some more and sighed.

"There's no need to be sorry. I'm just glad you're going to be okay", he said.

"Where's Melissa and my parents? Do they know what happened?".

"Melissa is in the kitchen with your mom making cookies, your dad and my dad are in the living room talking and seeing what they can do to get on each other's good side for your sake and I told them that you've been having nightmares which have been keeping you up at night so you haven't been getting enough sleep. So you came up here in hopes of getting more rest".

We stayed quiet and he continued playing with my hair. We laid there silently and the machine began beeping and the nurse came in and unhooked everything then walked out with the machine.

"How do you feel?".

"Better but a little tired".

"Sleep then. I'll go tell everyone you've been having more bad dreams".

"No. Just stay with me please?".

He nodded and continued playing with my hair which put me in a deep sleep...

Lucas' POV

She looks peaceful when she's sleeping. The way her hair falls in front of her face is just to adorable. I continued running my fingers through her hair and moments later the door opened and my father stood in the doorway. He motioned for me to come with him. I gently laid Morgan on the pillow and walked out the room closing the door behind me.

"Were you and Kyle able to make peace?", I asked.

"We came to an understanding", he replied.

"Good because I don't think she'd want her biological father arguing with her father in law every time you two saw each other".

"So is Morgan okay?".

"She's fine. I better get back in there incase she has another nightmare".

My dad nodded and I walked in the room. I climbed back in the bed and played with her hair some more. I'm just so glad she's going to be okay. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her...
